James Zeiner - entering the 2007 Season as World No. 2, with 4 Slam Titles to his name! :)
Seeded 1 at Sydney ATP 250 tournament, where I won in 2005 and 2006. I managed to beat Fernando Verdasco 6-3, 6-2 after shaking off early rust (coming back from 1-3 down in the first set). Then put on a masterclass against Andy Murray to win comfortably 6-3, 6-2. I met Davydenko in the Semifinals and won 6-1, 6-2 before disposing of Jarkko Nieminen 6-1, 6-4 to win my 3 consecutive Sydney title!

I also entered the 2007 Australian Open as the 2-time defending champion (Won 2005, 2006). I beat Kevin Ullyett 6-0, 6-1, 6-1 in R1, Hyung Lee 6-0, 6-0, 6-1 in R2 and then Mardy Fish 6-0, 6-1, 6-2 in R3, with each match lasting less than an hour. In R4 I met David Ferrer. I led 4-2 in the first set, but he played some absolutely inspired tennis to break back then win the first set in a tie-break. Ultimately, however, my defense and forehand were too much for him on these synthetic courts and I won 6-7, 6-2, 6-3, 6-1 in 2:35hrs. James Blake also played really well in our Quarterfinal match, winning the first set, but I turned that around as well to triumph 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-3. I played an incredible match against Nikolay Davydenko in the Semifinals, using my variety with FH/BH slices to dominate the first two sets. Davy played well in the 3rd set, but he double faulted on match point and sealed my place in the final 6-3, 6-1, 7-5!
World no. 1 Roger Federer ripped through his draw until the semifinals, then beat Rafael Nadal 6-4, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1 to set up another classic final showdown - in 2006 we met in the final as well, where I won in 5 sets.
This year, I was just playing far too solid and the court was too slow for Federer to make any meaningful inroads. Solid play to take the first two sets 6-4, breaking right at the end of each set. Federer played an amazing 3rd set, but collapsed a little in the 4th set with Zeiner (me) coming up with some brilliant lobs and passing shots. In the end, I won 6-4, 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 in 2:40 hours, lifting my 3rd consecutive Australian Open Title! :D
I have now won 43 matches in a row on synthetic hard courts (43-0 overall!) and have therefore never lost at the Australian Open.
I moved on to Dubai after a nice rest, but got stunned in the first round by Lleyton Hewitt, now ranked 32, losing 5-7, 3-6. Not the best match from me, especially since my serve was off. Only 36% first serves, and much slower than usual.
Australian Open - 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009
Roland Garros - 2005, 2006
Wimbledon - 2009
US Open - 2008

Zheng Jie has won China F2! Her first ever professional tournament trophy!
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/f ... =415151617

Upon making the quarterfinals, Zheng came across an up-and-coming young Australian named Anastasia Rodionova. She was one of the highest ranked players in the tournament at #318, although she wasn't seeded. Despite the huge difference in rankings (Zheng was ranked #953 going into the tournament), the young Chinese phenom won the match pretty convincingly, 6-4 6-2, and was never truly threatened. After this match, Zheng really turned on the heat, BURNING through her semifinal opponent (a Chinese Wildcard named "Dong" that was ranked outside the Top 500) 6-2 6-0! The Winner/UE ratio for Jie in that match was truly comical: something like 28/2.

Zheng and her coach/boyfriend Arvis were feeling pretty good after that, confident that she could shock the world (or at least China) by winning the whole tournament. However, her final opponent, a Korean named Yun-jeong Cho, had other ideas.

After beating the tournament's 7th-seed along the way to the finals, Cho showed in her match against Zheng that she was not to be underestimated. In the first set, Zheng broke twice, and even served for the set at 5-4. But each time Zheng broke, Cho fought hard and broke back. Eventually, it went to a tiebreaker and Zheng was all sorts of discouraged: she hadn't faced a tiebreaker all tournament! Her slice serve out wide followed by crosscourt backhand winner combo was invincible! But here, it just wasn't working. Cho was returning too well, and showed it by getting the minibreak are the FIRST point of the tiebreaker. Cho went up 2-0 after that before a nervy double-fault gifted the minibreak back. Zheng and Cho traded a couple more minibreaks until 4-all, when Zheng proved to be the more consistent of the two players (despite her Winner/UE ratio being WAY worse than her previous match). Zheng rattled off 3 points in a row to take the tiebreak, with Cho looking tired and nervous. However, that was a mere front, apparently: Cho played INSANE tennis in the 2nd set, blowing Jie away 6-2. I mean, Winners were coming from everywhere and Zheng, already a terrible server, couldn't get a first serve in for anything. Not only that, but Zheng started spraying errors as well, even on routing short balls that she would normally easily hit deep appraoch shots from. It also didn't help that Zheng had to hit three, four, or even 5+ volleys just to end a point! Cho was running them ALL down! Zheng finished the 2nd set with TEN errors JUST ON HER FOREHAND VOLLEYS ALONE.

After this, Zheng and Arvis assumed the worst, but fortunately it was not to be. Cho began missing the lines in the 3rd set. Crazy angled forehands that were landing on lines throughout the whole 2nd set started landing out. This gave Zheng time to calm down and start hitting better approach shots again. With some smart play and better volleys, Zheng put herself in a position to win, serving at 5-3. On match point, Zheng and Cho rallied, and when Cho put a backhand into the net, Zheng fell to her knees in jubilation, elated to win her first trophy and knowing that under the guidance of her handsome and charming coach/boyfriend, she would one day take over the tennis world.

As if to confirm that belief, Zheng has already received a Wild Card into an Indoor Carpet Challenger. What challenges (get it?) await her there? STAY TUNED!

My first post in a long time it seems like, Well my goals going into my first Australian Open was to make the second week of the grand slam as well as Possibly win the Doubles Grand Slam with my partner.

Round 1 Won 7-6(5) 6-0 6-0 vs. Bjorn Phau. After the first set I just decided to play a little safer and play the rallies and only made 1 unforced error in the second and third set with 20 winners.

Round 2 Won 6-4 2-6 7-5 7-6(4) vs. Florian Mayer. I technically by the numbers played an okay match but really got out played most of the match and was on my back hill the whole match. I did it 85 winners to only 34 unforced errors. But my opponent did 105 winners to 51 unforced errors. My serve was broken 12 times and I broke his 12 times.

Round 3 Won 2-6 6-4 6-2 3-6 6-0 vs. (5) James Blake. Technically my best match against a top player. When looking at it my backhand actually won the match for me I hit 40 winners with my backhand and I normally don't have that many. I had to do something different because in the two previous meetings only won 9 games against him.

With this win I made into my first second week of a grand slam.

Round of 16 Won 7-5 7-5 6-4 vs (10) Ivan Ljubicic. Now this turned out to be my best match against a top player. It was several times in the match that I should have been behind but kept fighting back to win in straight sets. In the first set I never trailed. Jumped out to a 3-0 lead and after he broke back to get us back to 4-4. I kept ahead and won the set In the second set I got behind early 1-3 and came back to win the set with some good shots as well as targeting his forehand that was going off. In the third set the same thing could be said. Was down 5-3 and won the next 4 games saving 2 set points and winning getting my second top ten win in a row.

THE QUARTER-FINALS ARE (1)Federer vs C. Moya (8) Roddick vs (18) Djokovic Mathieu vs. (29) Diming (7) Gonzalez vs. (15) Gasquet

In doubles my partner and I have made it to the Quarter-FInals with ease except our last match when we won 6-3 4-6 6-4. We are 13-0 this season and looking to keep this going.

I AM BAAACK !! Here we go.. I see my last post was from Federer match , oh well it wasnt to be AGAIN . I've lost 6/7 6/4 2/6 6/7 , unfortunately , but its my first year , i couldnt wish to play better. (my skills arent great also :D). I've played Shangai and Paris then , but i dont know why on sam megapatch those courts are simply difficult to play on :D . They are faster , bounce is extremely low , and i've lost 4/6 2/6 to F.Mayer and 4/6 1/6 to G.Dimitrov (both tourney's 1R). WORLD TOUR FINALS are played on the same court i think , so i'll lose again i guess :d . My groups is Djokovic , Del Potro , Wawrinka and Me the other one is Federer , Nadal , Haas, Ferrer. Wish me luck , but.... :D

Quarter-Finals Won 3-6 7-5 7-6(2) 7-6(4) vs. Paul-Henri Mathieu. This was a very unique match. I started the first set very nervous and just trying to defend and hoping I could win that way. Of course I went down 1-3 very quick and had to regroup and play my game. So I finally was able to play my game and won the next two games with winners. Almost like he PHM noticed and raised his game and won the next 3 games almost with ease. We were on serve the second set the whole time until 6-5 his serve. I had saved 4 break points. He jumped out to a 30-0 lead and I came back and won the next four points to break and win the set. Third set we both held serve until the tiebreak. I saved 3 break points again. In the Tiebreak I jumped out to a 3-1 lead he gets one more point and I rallied off the next four to win the tiebreak 7-2. Fourth Set I broke to lead 2-1 he broke me right back to even it right back at 2-2. He held serve to go up 3-2. Then I won the next 3 games even coming back from 0-40 to save my serve to go up 5-3. He held his serve to get to 5-4 and he played an amazing game to break me. I got to 40-15 2 match points and he played three amazing points back to back to back to earn a break point and I made an unforced error and he breaks back to get to 5-5. The next game I break him at love and serving for the match again. Once again he plays another amazing game hitting four winners to break me back at 15. Now the tiebreak I get the mini break to go up 3-1. He holds his point now 3-2. I hit my only ace of the match to get to 4-2. He hit another winner and gets the mini break back to get to 4-3. I than win both of his points on his serve to get to 6-3 and he hits another win and gets to 6-4 and in the last point I get him to hit an unforced error to win the match. I got really lucky to get out of this match in 4 sets because it looked like if we were going to the 5th my serve wouldn't have held up. I hit 97 winners to his 89 winners and 56 unforced errors to his 47 unforced errors. The most telling stat of the match was the net approach I went 21/31 and hit 15 volley winners. Which have match how many I have hit in my last three singles matches.

SEMIFINALS ARE= (1) Federer vs. (18) Djokovic (29) Diming(me) vs. (15) Gasquet

In Doubles Jeff Coetzee and Myself took out the (3) Paes/ Knowles 6-2 6-4

Will face World #1 Bryan Brothers who we have beaten 3 times straight, once this year already. We also are still perfect this season not losing a match yet.

Well ATp World Tour FInals , finished fast for me :D. I've started the first match against DJkovic , very well , with a break and then 2-0 lead , led it until he broke me for 3/3 , and then i\ve won 3 games to win 6-3 the first . HE was playing anti-tennis he just saves everything but doesnt attack, but he also a lots of UE in the first set. The second set started really amazing for me , also with 2-0 lead then he got 1 game for 2-1, ive got mine for 3-1 , again 3-2 aand that was the crucial moment i was serving for 4-2 , but he broke me in a 15 minutes (real time ) game. The he went on to win 7-5 the second part. In the last game of the set he just destroyed me. I knew if it goes in 3rd set he will be the favourite , but i didnt predict he will play that good. He broke me twice and was leadind 5-0 when i finally managed to win a game. Then there was a glimmer of hope , i've saved 5 MP , but finaly he finished 6-1 the third part. In the second match against Del Potro i really didnt had any chances , losing 2-6 4-6. And retired the third match against Ferrer (yeah Ferrer , not wawrinka like i've said in the first post.) Now i start the next year , again in Chennai , deffending title. This time Isner is second seed and there is also Dolgopolov and Seppi . We will se what comes arround :D

Good stuff, everyone.

Zheng Jie took that Wildcard into her first Challenger tournament. Lost in the first round 7-6, 6-4 to someone ranked like 500 spots ahead of her, but acquitted herself well. Now that she has taken some time off to rest and to train, she should have an even better game! She'll be playing another Futures tourney, so we'll see how that goes.

Re: Write your career results here!

Postby iopzzza » 16 Apr 2015, 01:33

Iopzzza is back ! It will be a long post :D. As i said , i've started again in chennai , this time with tougher draw , than last year. My stats were dropping , because i didnt play much from finals to the start of the season. Played in first round vs Przysiezny won 6/2 6/1 , nothing special , only my serve was struggling because of the low stat. 2nd round against Sekiguchi , 6/2 6/1 again , but the game was tougher than the scoreline shows :D. In the third round i've had one the worst opponents when you are not in form :D , Nieminen. Started slowly the first set , but yeah as i've said my service was really poor , my bh also wasnt there , only i've some good forehands and lobs , but that wasnt enough , lost the first set 6/7 , after we broke our serves 1 time each. Started better the second set , and made 4 aces :D to get the match into a second tiebreak , where Nieminen had the lead 5/3 and then he had one match point in 6/5, but i've somehow managed to turn things arround and win 7/6 :D. I've served first in the third set and managed to broke him in the second game of the set aand that was all , i've just kept concentration and won 6-3 , but again REALLY TOUGH MATCH. After Nieminen i had to face Dolgopolov , again hard match , not as tough as last one , but it was hard also. First set , nothing special , one break of serve and i've won 6/4. Some great rally's and that was all. Second set he turned on the style and almost baggeled me :D , he was serving for 5-0 lead , but i managed to break him. Set finished 6-2 for him and i was hummiliated :D. The third set started even when till the 5th game wheníve break his serve and finished after that the match in fashion 6-2 (i broke him once more.). In the final i've played John Isner , but this time i was calm , because i dont struggle against him never , i just wait for him to make a bad serve game and thats all :D . Fortunately for me he made one in the first set and i've broke and won 6-3. In the second i had to wait till taibreak but won 7-6 (3). AAnd that was my 4-th title overall and second Chennai tittle (just for e.x IN BRISBANE first seed was MAHUT :D i thought it would be easyer to play chennai but... you never know). I was thiknig to play Sydney , because of my stats , but i've finally decided NOT to play and that was may be a mistake as we would find out latter. In Australian Open i was 7th seed playing against Tcherveniachki in 1st round , beat him easily 6/2 6/1 6/2. The faced A.Montanes (a decent clay courter i' would say) won 6-2 6-1 6-3. Then a tough match again janowicz , his serve is really difficult to return. It wasnt the best of matches in terms of quality . No more than 5 or 6 rally's in the first set. I've won 7-6(3). Second set started the same as first ,but he broke for 6-4 when i was serving , i dont know what happened. I've won the Third set 7-5 after same boring serve and foreheading games :D. In 4th set i tought he will turn on the style , but it was the same... we went to a tiebreaker where i've won 7-6 again. So 7-6 4-6 7-5 7-6 and i'm in the 4th round against NISHIKORI. Just a reminder i defend semifinal from last year... insane. Good news , Robredo beat murray and he is waiting me in 1/4 finals , should i beat Nishikori. He started very well , he is just amazing in the game , justl ike the real Nishikori. He has all the skills. Broke me for 2-0 , but i instantly rebroke for 2-2. Then we've served good (although my stat wasnt good) and i thought for a moment we will go on to a tiebreaker. It wasnt to be , he collapsed in last game of serve and gave me the first set 7-5. The second started even , with a lot good rally's long, no breaks of serves , some BP altough. We both saved BP's , there was a game where i managed to turn things arround from 0-40 and win :D. We went on to tiebreaker where i usually try to keep my concentration at the highest level, but this time he played amazing and won 7-6 (2). Again i must say , the match like a real tennis match , so balanced it was pleasure. However , my low stats began to show up in the third set where he broke me again for 2-0 , i've managed to turn things arround just like in the first set 2-2 , but serving for 5-5 i've made 2 DF and lost 4-6 the third set. I didnt gave up of course, but in the 4th set there was only 1 player on the Court :D. I've lost 2-6 in the 4-th and didnt deffend my points from last year. Anyway i think to play now more atp 250 than last year , just to get some good stats , and try to do something in the clay season. Sorry for the long post :D

Well i am ready with new post , so lets start with it. After AO i've decided to play one atp 250 for stats - Montpellier . I thought there wont be many high ranked players , but there were - Berdych , Raonic , Tsonga , Gasquet... the court was very different to AO. Really faster , the bounce wasnt that low , but everyone was moving faster than in AO . Started in 2nd round against Querrey - well what a tough match that was. This surface really needed only serve and hard hitting and that is what querrey does... I've wont 7/6 6/3 but he managed to broke me once in the first set. I need some games to setup on the court and when i got them i understood what i had to do , to win and did it. In third round i got Tsonga. Again tough match i've saved 4 Set Points in the first set but finally managed to get to the tiebreaker where i've won 7/4. I've broke him once in the second set and the starting game and then we both served until the end of match - 6/4 for me. In the semi's i've got Raonic , i tought it will be tougher , but it wasnt to be. I was already adequate on the court , knew how to hit , how to move , how to anticipate and it was no tough ask to beat raonic 6/3 7/5. The final was even easyer - vs Berdych 6/3 6/2. Its my 5th title overall. All of them are atp 250. I have 3 on hard , 1 clay and 1 grass. Still strugling to win something bigger , but i will try hard :D . After montpellier i've played in ROtterdam where i've played final last year. I was 3rd seeded behind nadal and djokovic , and had eventual semifinal with djoko. Didnt had any strugles in 1st round against andujar 6/3 6/3. Then two more easy matches - against Haase 6/3 6/2 and against Janowicz (who wasnt a treat to me on this court) 6/3 6/4. And then nadal lost in the 1/4 finals , so me or djokovic would eventually win the title. We battled in the semifinal but i've retired after 1-6 1-4 (2 breaks up). It just wasnt to be ;D and i still dont have atp 500 to my name , but anyway i play Memphis now , this time i am fifth seeded after Nadal , Murray , Isner, Berdych anda there is eventual match with nadal at the 1/4 finals. First round is against Nieminen (tough opponent) and second AGainst Pospisil. 1/4 final against Nadal/Paire. Thats all for now

I'm back too!
I decided to start also a WTA carreer, so I'll play two carreers at the same time!!
P.S. Happy that Arvis is making a WTA carreer! finally someone :D :D

Soooooo... I've seen that it's too difficult for me playing a carreer starting from the back as 1000 ranked; so, new carreer il ATP & WTA!!

ATP:
News of my new player will arrive soon :D :D

WTA:
I'm playing as Justine Henin (a god <3) from 1998 in 32nd position.
First tournament is Brisbane, a Premier. R1 is a thrilling: Against no.40 Maria Vento... what a Match! she started almost perfectly, dropping only 2 games in the opening set: 6-2, but she dominates all the games... still don't know how I win these 2 games! The second set was quite similar, but I didn't drop a single serve game till 4-4; then, I broke her without losing a single point :) and I close the set 6-4: but the battle begans only now!! she served first in the final set, but I managed to broke her for a fast 2-0. But she started again to be unplayable and she went 3-2 40-0 on my serve...! But I stayed focused and I saved all the break points and claimed the 3 all. three fast games, and she went 5-4 while me serving. What a game!! 15-0, then 15-30... We played an incredible point, and I closed it with a forehand winner 8-) but the serve didn't help me: 1st serve went out, 2nd serve was too weak: return winner and match point! I saved myself with a forehand winner, but again she hit a return winner!! :O a really tought point, won by... me!! again with the forehand winner. I keep my serve game, like the one on 6-5. Tiebreak: you all expect a tough tiebreak but... no!! I DOMINATE it: 7-0!! So, 2-6 6-4 7-6(0) :D :D :D
R2 Against no.17 Anke Huber; lost first set 7-6(4), but I will fight in the second.. you'll see!!

So after my watershed year in 2001 (becoming ranked number one and winning two grandslams), I am having the meltdown of the ages LMAO!!!! I haven't made it past the round of 16 through my first seven events! And my ranking has tumbled from 1-6 after not defending my Wimbledon title (I lost to Patty Schnyder in the fourth round a player I have a terrible 0-5 record against). This is terrible!!!!!
