Madrid : Nadal d. Djokovic 2/6 6/2 6/1...

I've never enjoyed a game more than Tennis Elbow (not only a tennis game, but a video game in general), but playing against Nadal on clay is very, very boring...I started the match with good intentions, but, like always, I broke down, mentally. You cannot make a winner, he's a wall, and the ball comes back again, and again, and again...

Head to head : Nadal now leads 7/0
If someone know how to beat him in Incredible level, I'm all ears.

I don't like the court in Rome, and i don't want to play against him another time before the French Open, so I'm heading directly to Paris ! I'm n°1, and he's still n°2, so we cannot meet up until the final.

The draw has been made, and I can say I'm very lucky, almost all the players who give me a hard time on clay (Nishikori, Ferrer, Robredo...) are on Nadal side :)
Besides, Federer and Murray had to withdraw for the French slam !

Theorical way to the final for me : Ward/Mayer/Goffin/Janowicz/Monfils or Dimitrov/Wawrinka or Fognini or Tsonga
Theorical way to the final for Nadal : Falla/Andujar/Seppi/Lopez or Bautista Agut/Raonic or Gasquet or Isner or Kyrgios/Nishikori or Berdych or Cilic or Ferrer

Your description of playing Nadal only makes me appreciate even more how realistic this game is.

Hey guys me again
So I ended my 3rd year at 51 in the rankings, which wasnt so bad after a really difficult mid season
To start the new year I entered two warm up events in Australia before the Grand Slam, both are ATP250s and I was seeded for both :D
Got Jamie Murray in the first round who I comfortably beat 6/4, 6/4
I then got Filipo Volandri who although was ranked 91 in the world and unseeded but had total stats at about 1,600! I played reasonably well in the 2nd set, but still lost 6-1,4-6,6-2
Then in the 2nd tournament I beat a qualifier 6/1, 6/1 before coming up against unseeded Vasek Poposil, ranked 65 in the world. Thought I would atleast had a chance to make quaters/semis here but when I clicked the play him his total stats were over 1800! WTF?! He destroyed me it was like playing Berdych or someone like that! Just wondering if you guys had similar problems when trying to go up the rankings? I decided to check the draw for who I got in the AO, first thing I did was check the seed closest to me who was Denis Istomin ranked 32 in the world, I thought result! A chance to make round 3 for the first time! :D Then I saw who I would face in the 1st round, unseeded Vasek Poposil! I wanted to cry LOL, I will let you know how I get on later tonight

Hello , its iopzzza again.
Well my last post finished in Miami so i will start from there. As i've said , i've won Indian Wells and my stats were higher now in Miami , also i played on pro 9 in miami.
Got Cuevas in first round , but he wasnt a threat , beat him easitly 6/1 6/0. In Third round i've played Mayer . I had one loss against him in the late 2013 on fast hard courts ad was little bit scared about the match. And yeah , i had to be at my very best to win my serve games and i had no chances on his. We went on tiebreak where he made 2 mni breaks and was serving for the set. I saved two set points on his serve , and one on mine to draw 6/6 in the tiebreak. The somehow i've won 4 of the next 6 points and won 10/8 in tiebreak. It was hell of a set , really. In the second set i 've started with the serve and found it easyer to make my shots. In the second game he started with 2 DF and eventually i broke him in what was the first and the only break of serve in the match :D. Won 6-3 in the second set, serving super concentrated. It wasnt getting easyer... for next opponent i had MONFILS. It was the same match like mayer. He even broke me in my first game of serve , but i managed to rebroke with some amazing returns. We went on tiebreak when i had one set points and toke it. 7/5 in tie break and 7-6 in the first set. And it turned out to be the same match like mayers again. I was serving first ad broke him in his first game of serve to win 6-3. The good news was that both Djokovic and Murray lost , to Tsnga and Simon. And my opponent for 1/4 final Was simon (and for 1/2 final Raonic/Tsonga). Then i started dreaming about second masters title :D. Started well against Simon. Serving 10 aces in my first 4 games of serve. Unfortunately i was just sleeping in my next game of serve and he broke me to win the set 6-4. He was playing very good , making almost no errors. The second set was a mirror of the first but with another winner in the end :D , I've won 6-4. Aand when i was thinking i will go into the semi's he just started to return everything and won 6-0 the third set. I have no words about the third set and will not discuss it :D. Actually that will be for now , i will post more later to avoid BIG POST :D

So, I have a lot of things to tell you :D
R2 of Australian Open against Llodra; no problems in the first set; an easy 6-1 and break in the 1st game :) I went 6-1 6-4 5-3, but He broke me for the first time :? the set went to a tiebreak, which I managed to win 7-3 :D R3 against Nicolas Massu: won th 1st set 6-3, and on 3-3 my PC suddently switched off :O and my australian Open finished with a retire :(
I can't miss the Davis match: We were against Argentina in Buenos Aires, and I played only doubles with Michael Kohlmann: we DESTROYED in the 1st set Prieto/Nalbandian and win an incredible match 6-1 7-6 6-2 :D :D Germany won 3-2 due to the 2 wins of Tommy Haas (who lost the AO Final) and our doubles win.
Next stop is Vina del Mar, and I was the 7th seed :) R1 pretty easy against a spanish qualifier 6-1 6-3; R2 was against Jose Acasuso. he was in great form: in fact, his form of day was +0.13!! In the first set he had 7 (seven!) break points, but he didn't break me; he left only 6 points in his serve games... We went on a tiebreak, and he went 6-3 (he had also 2 set points on 5-4 while I was serving); I saved the 1st and the 2nd set point with 2 winners, but he could serve on 6-5. And guess what?? He did two double faults in-a-row!!!! Just incredible! I closed the tiebreak 8-6, and I thought that i would won easily the 2nd set. But He played better than in the 1st set (even if it was possible) and he won the set 6-3 with two breaks. And in the 3rd set I broke him on 3-2 and 5-3: I won 7-6(6) 3-6 6-3 :D :D In the QF I played against Robredo, and he went 3-0 :O then I came back to 4-4 and on 5 all I had 5 break points, but he won the game :( we went on a tiebreak, and I knew that who would won that tiebreak would won the match :) And.... he won 7-6(4) 6-1 :(
Now I will play in Rotterdam, which is an ATP500. I'm 6th seed and I will face Karol Beck in R1. Let's see!

Re: Write your career results here!

Postby iopzzza » 08 May 2015, 18:44

Its me , iopzzza. After Miami i queued for Casablanca , i was defending title there. In 1st round i palyed against Y.H.Lu i thought it would be an easy match like last year , but no it wasnt to be. I've lsot the first set 4-6 and won 6-4 6-3 after that , but there only 1 breaks of serves each set. In 2nd round i played against Kochlshreiber , well my easiest match. 7/5 6/3 (later in the post you will see why). After kochly i got VERDASCO. Oh boy , playing vs verdasco on clay is shitty , very shitty . The game started with him leading 2-0. After that i've won the next 6 games and won the first part 6-2. The second part started with me leadin 3-0 and serving for 4-0 , but he WON THE NEXT 6 GAMES (insane playing level) and won 6-3 second part. In the final i've met K. Anderson , who beat Nieminen in the semi's. I thought it would be easy match , cause i,ve played with anderson before , but on pro 7 ad pro 8. Well he almost beat me... i had nochances in the first part losing 3-6 , then had to come from a break down to win 6-3 and finally took my ONLY CHANCE in third set and won 7-5 in the tiebreak. Its my 4th title for the season (third atp 250 :D). After Casablanca i made it to Monte Carlo , the tournamnet i hate most , cause the surface is insanely slow. The character moves slow , the bounce is extremely high. Got bye and played MAHUT in second round.
That's why Grass court players sholudnt play on clay ... he was awful i've won 6-2 6-1. In 3rd round i got tipsarevic , but wasnt sure what to expect , that's why he won 6-4 the first part winning the only chance for break. In the second part i've raised my level , but it wasnt enough until 6-5 for me with him serving. Finally broke him after he denied me 3 times and won 7-5 the second part. In the third part i've served first and broke him one time , because he made 2 DF in one game and won 6-3. In 1/4 finals i played Monaco who played too deffensively , but not deeply enough. He didnt troubled me really , although the scoreline suggest else 7-5 6-4 . AND HERE I WAS THE MOST LUCKYEST PERSON ON EARTH. Tsonga beat Nadal in 1/4 finals , and set up a semi final against me. The other semi was Fed - Almagro. Started the match quick with both of us serving 6 aces each. And again like the other matches it was only one point separating us. This time in my favour , i've broke him for 5-4 and served for 6-4 , and eventually won the first set 6-4. Tryed to play as good as i was in the first but he simply raised up his level and almost baggeled me 6-1. In the deciding set it was simillar like tipsarevic match , with me serving first , and breaking him in the second game, to win 6-3. And that's it i was in the final of MONTE KARLO , was expecting EPIC match with federer , but what it turned out to be ?
Federe lost 6/7 6/0 6/7 to Almagro and my opponent in the final was Almagro (pro 9). I was just too ready to win my second masters title after avoiding both fed and nadal , that i beat almagro 2-1 sets in the final , although it wasnt easy 3-6 7-6 6-4 and iTS MY SECOND MASTERS TITLE. I am switching up to pro 10 now :D .
There is little more , but i will leave it for late , otherwise it will be too long post :) Thank you

So guess what? I lost in straight sets to that damn Poposil!
But after the AO I have been playing really good consistent tennis, every tournament I have entered I have got past the 1st round. This consistency has meant I am back in the Top 50 and I have managed to improve my stats regularly :D up to about 1150/1200 in total now!
Just started the French Open, beat a qualifier in the first round 6/2, 6/1, 6/2 - onto Albert Montanes, world no11 with 1750 total stats! lol
I took him to 3 sets in the masters a couple of weeks ago so hopefully I can pull off a shock! Will post the result later on!
Really feel like I am making progress now, hopefully top 40 by the end of the season!

So after my very first successful Grand Slam run in singles and doubles I think three weeks off to get rest and train and decided to play San Jose 250 event. I was the third seed and got a bye round 1. Beat Luis Horna 6-2 6-4 was a very easy match from the start only reason the second set is close is because I tried to serve and volley and was making some mistakes. In The Quarter-Finals I beat (8) Ernests Gulbis 6-1 6-4. My serve was working the best in this match since about my win in Brisbane. I didn't face a break point and broke him a 3 times. This is where everything went left quickly. In the Semifinals I played Richard Gasquet and he thrashed me 6-2 6-1. I couldn't hold serve for nothing and it was just like the match against him in the Australian Open where I couldn't hold serve and he did everything better than me.

In Doubles me and my partner won the title beating again the World #1 Bryan Brothers in the Finals and not losing a set the entire tournament. We are now 5-0 lifetime against the Bryan Brothers. With this win me and my partner Jeff Coetzee moved into the Top 10 at #9 and #10 respectively. Also we keep our perfect season alive! We are 18-0 winning Brisbane, Sydney, Australian Open, and San Jose.

Next Tournament is going to be Dubai looking at the draw now. I'm the sixth seed and could face Andy Roddick in the Quarter-fInals. No Richard Gasquet in my section of the draw will only meet him in the Finals!! That's a good thing to know!! In Doubles Me and Jeff are the number one seed.

I'm playing my career at Pro-10 level for quite some time now, I'm currently at the year 2007 (started in 2003). I play only one match per day before sleeping, I wish I had more time to play it, but it's nice, because too many matches in a row you start losing focus.

I finished last year #15 and had an amazing year start now in 2007. I won Brisbane defeating Juan Monaco at the final and got to the semifinals in Sydney, where I lost to Nadal (first time I took one set off him). Then I entered Australian Open, without too many hopes, because I got a very tough draw. I was once again at the same half of the draw as Nadal and I had Del Potro as my first round match. Yes, a young 19yo Del Potro, but dangerous still. He thrashed me in the first 2 sets, 6-4 and 6-2, but then I managed to bounce back in the 3rd set winning 6-3. At the 4th set he had a break at 4-2, but I broke him back twice in a row and closed the 4th set at 6-4. Then, I managed to win the 5th set at 7-5. It was a thrilling match. Then, in the second round I destroyed Michael Llodra (6-4/6-4/6-2). The only reason the scores were a bit tight is because he is a volleyer who serves very well, but I completely dominated the match. In 3rd round I had to face Baghdatis, who had defeated me in US Open in 5 sets. I managed to win in 4 sets (6-2/7-6(9)/2-6/5-3). At the 3rd set he nullified completely my game and I thought he was going to turn the game around, but I managed to get back on track at the 4th set. Then, at Round of 16, I met Nadal once again. It was amazing, because this was the first time in my career I was able to beat him (it was our 4th encounter). And I won in straight sets (6-4/7-5/6-3). I was very solid from the baseline and very confident, because after I took a set of him in Sydney, I thought I had found a way to play against him. Well, then I went to quarterfinals against Berdych, another player who had been a nightmare recently. He had a record of 4-1 against me, but all matches were very tight. I was able to beat him 6-2/6-3/6-4. In semifinals I faced Novak Djokovic. Although I lost to him in Davis Cup a year before, I managed to win very easily in another encounter in Shanghai. And this time it was the same (6-2/6-3/6-3). And, finally, to my surprise, I met Richard Gasquet at the final. He was lucky in quarterfinals when Federer withdrew from the match and then he surprised me by beating James Blake at the semifinals. My record against Gasquet was already 2-0, so I was confident, but, as Serena Williams Fan said in his post above, holding the serve against him is always complicated to me, I don't know why. Maybe he is a good returner. Thankfully I can always break him back, so it was a calm match, but with some dose of emotion, because he broke me back in 3rd set and forced a 4th set. But I won (6-1/6-2/4-6/6-2) and finally won a Grand Slam. I had never passed Round of 16 before in a Grand Slam and I had only ATP 250 titles (8 titles).

So that's it, I finally reached Top 10, now I'm ranked #6 in the world (#1 in Race) and I'm gonna start Rotterdam tournament. :D

So, I lost comfortably to Montanes, kind of glad the clay court season is over, I prefer Grass!
As the season is short and I had a poor Wimbledon last year I decided to try and get as much practice as possible, so I entered Queens and Nottingham.
I was seeded at Queens so got a bye in the first round, second round was against Ross Hutchins, he was good but I should of won. I lost in a very close match 6/4,4/6,6/4. Total points were 83-82 in his favour it was that close! I really should of won though
At nottingham it all turned around, really strong field so I got Gasquet in the first round, in a very close match I went through 6/7,6/4,7/6
Next round was top 20 player Daniel, managed to beat him 4/6,6/4,6/2 - final set I played really well
Then the best match of my career, I played Nadal and served beautifully all match, only got broken once! Managed to stun Nadal in an epic 7/5, 6/4 win, was 4/2 down in the final set!
Now onto Andy Murray in the Semis, really looking forward to that and Wimbledon now! :D :D :D

Postby Krish4791 » 23 May 2015, 19:42

Hi guys, I'm back after having played out a long summer 2007 season! :D
I'll pick up from my last post - so I had won Halle and headed into Wimbledon 2007, looking to improve on my QF appearance in 2006.

Wimbledon 2007:

Round 1: Zeiner (2) def. Henman 6-2, 6-0, 6-1 - very easy victory for me, Tim Henman has been declining
Round 2: Zeiner (2) def. Benneteau 6-4, 6-0, 6-0 - again very easy
Round 3: Zeiner (2) def. Sa 7-6, 2-6, 7-6, 4-6, 6-2 - Unbelievable match! Andre Sa was playing his best tennis and I struggled throughout until the 5th set where I finally broke his serve. The match lasted 4:33 hours and I'm very happy :)
Round 4: Zeiner (2) def. Ljubicic (16) 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 - good match where I broke at the end of each set
Quarterfinal: Zeiner (2) def. Davydenko (7) 6-7, 7-6, 7-6, 6-7, 7-5 - EPIC 5:01 hours match! I will post a photo of the stats somewhere but Nikolay was playing well, I played badly. Match was very up and down, and I had to save 3 set points in 3rd set to win the tie-break. Then I saved 1 Match Point on my serve at 4-5 in the 5th set before breaking Davydenko and winning!
Semifinal: Djokovic (8) def. Zeiner (2) 6-4, 6-3, 6-4 - Maybe I carried some fatigue over from the 2 5-setters earlier in the week and Djokovic was on fire. He broke me in the last game of the 1st set then broke again early in set 2 to take a 3-0 lead. He never looked back and I could not get into it, and Djokovic went on to win the title (his 1st Grand Slam in the game!)

Montreal 2007:

Round 2: Zeiner (2) def. Monfils 7-6, 6-2 - I should have won quicker because I led 4-2, but played a silly game to give back the break of serve in the 1st set
Round 3: Zeiner (2) def. Murray 1-6, 6-3, 7-5 - Got destroyed in the first set and was also 3-1 down in the 3rd set, but somehow fought back
Quarterfinal: Davydenko (5) def. Zeiner (2) 7-6, 3-6, 7-5 - another amazing match between us! We both played very well on serve in the 1st set but he took a 4-0 lead in the tie-break and won it 7-3. I bounced back in 2nd set and broke his serve for a 5-3 lead and served out. Then I broke again for 1-0, but lost the break and saved 3 match points, but eventually lost. Monteal has not been a very successful tournament for me in the past either

Cincinnati 2007:

Round 2: Zeiner (2) def. Calleri 6-2, 6-2
Round 3: Zeiner (2) def. Nalbandian 6-1, 6-2
Quarterfinal: Zeiner (2) def. Roddick (6) 6-4, 6-4
Semifinal: Zeiner (2) def. Djokovic (4) 6-3, 6-2 - I avenged my Wimbledon loss and played one of my best matches ever - only 2 errors in the whole match :)
Final: Zeiner (2) def. Blake 6-2, 6-4 - routine victory to win the title :)

With the win I returned to World Number 1 as Federer lost early so went into the US Open on a positive note. I had Djokovic in my half (Federer and Nadal were in the bottom half), but he lost in Round 4 :)

2007 US Open:

Round 1: Zeiner (1) def. Monaco 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-2 - rusty start as I was broken twice in the 1st set. I was soon 3-6, 2-4 down and looking at a 2-set deficit, but managed to turn the match round with some strong serving
Round 2: Zeiner (1) def. Sela 6-1, 6-1, 6-2 - a very encouraging strong performance. I returned the ball very deep and won 100% of points at the net :)
Round 3: Zeiner (1) def. Moya (28) 6-2, 6-1, 6-3
Round 4: Zeiner (1) def. Nalbandian 6-7, 6-3, 6-2, 6-0 - Nalbandian played well in the first set but I double-faulted on an important point in the tie-break which was annoying. I began to break down his game and eventually ran away with the match thanks to my forehand hitting
Quarterfinal: Zeiner (1) def. Baghdatis (17) 7-5, 7-6, 6-0 - He was hitting the lines at the start but eventually my returning was too good
Semifinal: Zeiner (1) def. Mirnyi (20) 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 - embarrassing, I don't know how he even made the SFs! He is usually a doubles player. This win set up another blockbuster 1 vs. 2 final against Federer
Final: Federer (2) def. Zeiner (1) 7-5, 2-6, 7-5, 7-6! This was a match decided by very fine margins and unfortunately I lost the big points. In fact, I led 5-4 in the 1st set and was serving for it! But Federer won a long rally at 30-30 to set up break point. Then he broke again to take it 7-5. I played better in the 2nd set and broke twice in a row to stretch the lead to 5-1, then held on. I broke twice in the 3rd set and led 4-1, but somehow Federer levelled again at 5-5, then broke me for the 3rd time in the set after a fantastic volley to win it 7-5. I then had 3 set points in the 4th set tie-break, but missed 2 backhand. Federer saved the 3rd set point with an ace then converted his 1st Championship Point with a backhand DTL winner. He won his 2nd Slam of the year (11 overall), but I increased my points lead over him by reaching the Final :)

I moved on to the Beijing Open, where I won in 2005 and 2006 on the synthetic courts. I was also on a 43-match win streak on synthetic surface (43-0 overall!)

China Open 2007:

Round 2: Zeiner (1) def. Gao 6-0, 6-0 - warm up match effectively
Round 3: Zeiner (1) def. Navarro 6-1, 6-0 - the key on this surface is my curving forehand DTL, which I used well here
Quarterfinal: Zeiner (1) def. Nalbandian 7-6, 6-0 - I played an outstanding 2nd set, no-one would have beaten me that day.
Semifinal: Zeiner (1) def. Gasquet 4-6, 7-6, 7-5 - I only just kept my streak alive!! Gasquet had his deadly backhand and he was outhitting me for almost the whole match. I saved 5 Match Points in the 2nd set before we exchanged 6 breaks in the 3rd set. I finally served out the match to move to 47-0 on synthetic courts :)
Final: Federer (2) def. Zeiner (1) 6-4, 2-6, 7-5 - Federer came in with confidence after his US Open win and finally snapped my streak! He jumped out to a 5-2 double break lead in set 1. I recovered one of the breaks, but it was too late. I broke him at 3-2, then again for 5-2 and served out the 2nd set reasonably comfortably. But I started missing the forehand again in set 3, where he eventually broke me for 6-5 and served out the match and won the title!

All in all not a bad summer, but I only managed 1 title during that time - now I move on to Paris Masters and then to London for the ATP Year End Championships :)

So, where was Matthias Weber? Yep, he was in rotterdam for his first ATP500 tournament. I had a quite good debut, defeating Beck 6-3 6-0, but in R2 I lost to an outstanding Xavier Malisse, who is playing on incredible levels. He beated me 7-6 6-1, like the loss with robredo last week.
I immediately went to Indian Wells, the first Masters 1000 of the season.
Good debut against an american Wild card, Sam Warburg, which I defeated 6-1 6-4. But then, I had to retire while I was playing against Volandri and I was down 4-0. Why? I simulated an Injury XDXD I know, probably for you it's stupid, but I decided to do that because I want to do a carreer which is very similar to a real one :D
so I thought I was totally recovered from the "injury" while entring in Monte-Carlo draw, but my debut didn't tell this: I won only a single game in my 6-0 6-1 defeat against Chela. In Madrid I had to retire again against Blake, an I decided to recover for a loooong time. So, I went to Wimbledon!
R1 was against David Guez: the first set was very close, errors and winners on both sides, but I managed to win 7-5, somehow. In the second set I felt more comfortable and I did less mistakes. The result was pretty clear: 6-2 :) the third was similar to the first one, but the brek came at the ninth game, not at the eleventh. So 7-5 6-2 6-4 and first win after the injury!
Then I played against no.5 in the world Mario Ancic, and I thought i would have no chances. Actually, the first set was really close: he broke me in the first game and held the break till 5-4; then I broke him and went on 5-5, where he made 8 points in a row and won the first set 7-5. the other 2 sets hadn't any stories, he just dominated them. 7-5 6-2 6-2, but I've a bit more of confidence now.
Next tournament will be Bastad, against the Wild card Vinciguerra. see you!

P.S: I think I'll restart my carreer when the Miharu's patch will come out; what will you do?
