Can you publish the playerbases here for modding?
Do you plan to work on the playerbases until official release?

cj1984,
to get the bases :
1- launch the game, go to Settings -> Profiles and click on the Show Data Folder icon on the bottom left, then close the game
2- in that folder, create a "Ini" subfolder (EDIT: SubBuild 2019.6.8 changed the Player & Tour base .ini folder from "Data" to "Ini")
3- in that folder, edit Tennis.ini (or the .ini of your Profile, if you have created one) and change this line, under [WT_Static], from :
SaveTourIni = 0
to:
SaveTourIni = 1
4- save & close Tennis.ini
5- launch the game, start a new game on the Women Tour if the current game is on the Men Tour, and vice versa
6- you'll have now both player bases in Data

Normally I'm done with the player bases till end of this year (for 2019 rankings), except to fix the little issues that may be reported (eg: wrong 1H/2H backhands)

Ah.. one question though. You've explained how to do the watch a match thing... but where can i find players base numbers? Its impossible, there is no players.atp like in TE 2013 and TEM 1? I found only tennis.ini in appdata. Please help me

iopzzza,
explanations to extract the Player bases are 2 messages about yours... ;)

But in today's update, I added the possibility to also specify the players by name. I didn't test anything so I'm not sure it's working or not. Check the log (ie: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Tennis Elbow Manager 2\Tennis Elbow Manager 2_Data\output_log.txt") for any warning parsing your numbers or names.

I was not expecting this when I updated my base game after it said there was an update. I can almost forgive losing my saves for this upgrade! Great job the game looks amazing with this engine move.

3 things I've noticed:

1) Is the game meant to run at super high speed? It feels like it's going in fast motion most of the time. Is it meant to be quicker than the previous TEM before the engine move?

2) The game seems to erroneously set it's refresh rate to 85Hz even though my monitor only supports 60hz. I'm gonna change this directly in the tennis.ini and see if this forces the change.

3) When a point is over and the ball is declared dead, there's always a stutter or a pause at the end of it. It can be quite distracting.

Apart from that, unreal. Really looking forward to sinking another 1000+ into TE4!!

Do you consider adding the wind factor to the game :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I would also appreciate if both games feature max fps. Sometimes I like the low fps.

megadam,
1) It should be the same, except if the timer didn't work correctly in the Legacy version on your PC, and works correctly now

2) The Tennis.ini doesn't command the display settings anymore, as it's set by the game launcher ; however, the frequency doesn't appear in the launcher, so I'm not sure how it works for it... :fear:
Anyway, if you didn't turn V-Sync off, then the framerate should be locked to your monitor refresh rate.

3) Yes, the hiccup was kinda bad ; I tried to smooth it in today's update. It's now almost unnoticeable on my PC (I7@4.6Ghz), but I'm not sure it'll be good enough or not for less powerful PCs... :thinking:

And I'm glad to know you enjoy the change & the game ! :yes:

scarecrow,
No wind planned for the TE world. It was already painful enough to watch it on RG this last week... :blackeye:

And what do you mean by "max fps" ? And "both games" ? :scratch:

In Tennis elbow 2013 we are adding a 3d engine MaxFps line to lower the fps. Please get again in both of these games.

I think wind would be actually be an interesting feature to think about for TE4. It would be great to have weather impacting physics if controlled and perhaps tied down to difficulty in terms of realism? Harder difficulties = historically accurate impacting weather like we've had at this year's RG?

And to confirm, the stuttering has disappeared from the recent update which is great.

I've noticed I've hit a bug with the recent update unfortunately and have updated the thread where 3d matches are not starting properly in World Tour now :(

scarecrow,
you can add this line, under [3dEngine], it will work :
MaxFps = 144

megadam,
wind in a tennis game isn't a good idea : you can't feel it on your body, and in real life the response is mostly a technical adaptation, which means it'd not be transcripted well in the game.
