Hey manutoo, sorry for disturbing again, but did u implement my suggestion for autowatch matches of 1 or more players? Or the game is still not 1.0?
And my other question is... What difference to the game does it make when its ported to Unity version? What are differnces between unity and no unity , why do u do it?

1. I've noticed that the volley (both forehand and backhand volley) & smash was executed after the player hit the ball, for example if we look at 0:47 & 5:44

Maybe the problem is the timing of animations wasn't correct when current animation system ported to Unity Engine, you know it better than me for sure :D
2. ForceSunInBack didn't work yet, i've tried to modified the value from 0 to 1 in Profile.ini

iopzzza,
1) We're still in Alpha state for the Unity version, as the port took longer than expected (plus other issues ; more info in the mini-blog => topic11-27585.php?start=45 ).
We might get close of the v1.0 by end of May, if luck is on our side, though... :fear:

2) Unity is good, or even indispensable, for :
  • Getting modern visuals ; even with the old TE2013 textures, TEM2 looks a bit better with Unity lighting, shaders & shadows
  • Porting to Mac & Linux (with finally the online support for Mac)
  • Porting TE4 to consoles
  • Porting TEM2 to tablets (very unlikely to happen, but still, it's now a possibility :blackeye: )
  • Its more modern animation system
  • Its editor : it helps to create, prepare, organize, test & tune all the game data
  • Getting access to many, many, many assets and things to ease the development (eg: the new rendering for the speed & match time boards ; the new bug reporting system ; etc.)
  • Avoiding some of the issues specific to some hardware ; ie: as I couldn't test my own engine on a lot of PCs, it didn't work well on a few PCs (eg: the infamous jerking rendering issue) ; with Unity, this kind of case can still happen, but they should be more rare, as Unity has been tested and used on dozen of millions of PCs

Davide Menez,
1) You were almost right in your guess : the timing wasn't assigned to non-customizable strikes when the selected forehand wasn't the 1st one (because in that case the engine is looking for alternative volleys & smash) ; it's fixed in today's build, thanks to your report !

2) I ported ForceSunInBack to Unity in today's build

3) Did you actively chose a low rendering quality in the game launcher ? Do you have a very old PC ?
EDIT: I checked and Unity reverted the default quality setting to "Fastest" instead of "Fantastic" ; it might be the reason you got such visuals...

Yes i did, i've tried to experience multiple quality render options and the one did gave me most stable FPS at 60+ was Fast & Fastest (why not Fast & Furious i just wonder )
4 other higher options always has FPS locked at 30 no matter what. I've turned off VSync, so that results is odd :|
I did that video on my laptop, the graphic card is MX150, scored at about >2100 points at G3D chart. I also has a PC with GTX 1060 in it, i'll try when possible.

1. I've set the graphic options to Simple, also set VSync to off and by all means the game locked at 30 FPS. All higher options also has the same result. I've selected the NVIDIA processor. This video was recoded when i'm using MX150 card as mentioned.
2. Any selection of double-handed backhand is the same.
3. The first ever time i went on play (both warm-up and match), the camera was zoomed. When i went out and comeback to play again (not exit the game just exit the mode), everything went back to normal.

Davide Menez,
1) Hum, could it be because your video recorder locks the FPS at 30 ? (Fraps is doing that by default)
However, I found out I didn't set the correct rendering path, which made the game handling shadows too slowly. It's fixed now. Moreover, I added a Shadow level, so it's now possible to turn off only the stadium shadows.

2) Fixed in today's build !

3) I tried but it worked correctly ; I guess something had crashed when you set something in the menus or a crash during the match loading ; hopefully, it's a bug I already fixed now... :fear:

Davide Menez,
3) I found the bug, it happened actually all each game launch, on 1st match start. :fear:
It should be fixed in the next update.

There is a bug when you try to go and View rankings and for example you want to view what Nadal did year by year, when you click the arrow for 1 year forward or backward game crashes.

Other bug, when you watch a match cpu vs cpu and if they are tied after second set, the third set is only a Tiebreak? Like in doubles (NOTE : this happens only if the second set is won in Tiebreak)

Example - Djokovic - Nadal 6/4 6/7.. and the third set is a tiebreak only which is not normal
Other example DJokovic - Nadal 6/4 4/6 - The third set is how it should be :)

EDIT - Not only when you try to do Year by Year, even if u try to click on someone name , there is a crash ocassionally

iopzzza,
1) I didn't get any bug report. The game didn't propose you to send a report ?
Could you manually send me your saved games ? (go to Settings -> Profiles -> bottom left icon, to find the Profiles folder)

2) It's in the 3D matches, right ?
I checked the code and it seemed to be ok, so I'd also need your saved game as well to check what's going on exactly... :fear: (you can press Scroll Lock in-game to send me your current saved games, including the current match .dmo if you have turned on Recordings)

Hey Manu! I have a couple silly questions ':D

1) I have my joystick setup just like I have in TE2013 and TEM2 (non unity version) but I can't pause the game using the start button in TEM2 Unity version.

Is there are problem with it or am I doing something wrong?

And 2) Is there a tennis.ini in the TEM2 Unity version installation folder as there is in the other version? I want to edit forcesunisback and can't seem to find it. :D

Thank you!

Strikeware203,
1) I checked and the menu button didn't work. It'll be fixed in the next update, thanks to your report !

2) Go to Settings -> Profiles -> click on the bottom left icon to open the folder with the Tennis.ini

Désolé pour le double post :

Est-ce que la version Unity est moddable, dans le sens où je n'ai trouvé aucun fichier modifiable (notamment les fichiers ini), que ce soit pour les profils, les bases etc ... ?

Can we customise the unity version ? I haven't found any .ini files to be edited ?

Burned,
The Unity version is customizable like the Legacy version, but as it's all bundled, you can't access the .ini files. So I'll have to release an SDK with them. Before that, you can use the .ini files from the Legacy TEM2 version : they are the same (or almost).

The .shader files are gone, though (replaced by a new simpler .ini file, but working only for the menu stuff), and the .menu files changed a tiny bit, but old ones should still be ok (except for the "TimeAlpha" command : it requires to divide by 1000 its values).

I come across a quite frequent bug, in average it happens every third 3D match (only happens in 3D matches, never text based), where after the second set set point (only and always after second set), third score somehow bugs out and jumps right into a weird score like 7/4, then next game for 8/44 means third set win and sometimes in Bo5 match it happens for the 4th set too with similarly bugged score.
