TEM2 Suggestions

Postby Spicer » 05 Jun 2018, 00:30

Hi all,

I couldn't find a suggestion thread, although seeing that the Bug Report forum dates back to 2017, I'm likely very very late to the party.

Nevertheless, there are a few enhancements I'd really like to see. Some much easier to implement than others, and no doubt things that Manutoo is already aware of and even considered.
So if there is such a list somewhere, this would be a way to bump it up ;)

So, let me start with a few:
  1. Being able to play both ATP and WTA within the same game.
I'm pretty sure this has already been ruled out years ago, but it's such an annoying limitation that I have to put it up there.
  2. Ability to choose the starting age of Marc Limon/Emily Bouvier, especially now that we have Juniors
(I thought this was moddable before but I've not been able to remember how)
  3. Being able to mark players as favorites in order to easily follow their careers instead of cramping through a thousand mouse clicks.
  4. Having a screen similar to Rankings showing ups & downs of players marked as favorites, also showing which tournament they played that week and which one they're signed-up for the following week
  5. TE2013 Pet Peeve: Relevant if TE2 3D matches will use the same engine as TE2013, increase the length of the Player's name on the scorebord to their full length rather than just 5 characters
  6. Have a few pre-installed training schedules

Hello,

1) Still no ;)

2) You want to start at a different age for your Pro player ? Or the Junior player as well ?

3/4/5) I'll see

6) No, but I was thinking maybe I should offer an export/import feature..?

For 2, both really.
You even ask at creation for the day and month of the character's birthday but not the year?
The skills might not even need to be normalized, except the physical ones (and the height & weight to avoid having 18 year olds weighting 40kg :) )

For 6, why not?
I mean, the training screen is pretty daunting for newcomers to the franchise, and having a few default regimes would help lowering the learning curve. This crowd can probably help you in creating those regimes and they don't even have to be good (TBH they probably should be average at best).
Sure, if you put in the import/export function then you can let the community come up with those regimes, but even then I think you're missing an opportunity to make the game more appealing to the steam crowd ;)

2) Ok, I'll check if it can be done without too much hassle

6) Oh ok, I see, it'd be for an easier welcome to newcomers. I note it down, and I'll get to it eventually. :)

Is there a way, maybe only a debug mode, to get the flavour text printed during matches when you watch them point-by-point, (e.g. 'Fault at Net', 'Winning lob', etc), saved in a log file?
Even better, could we have those saved in a log file even if we set the speed to "Game by Game" ?

End of match stats aren't enough..? :fear:

I normally always play on the fastest speed, Game-by-Game, but yesterday for the first time in a long time I used the point-by-point setting and noticed that text which I had completely forgot existed.
I thought they might hold some good information in analyzing the player's performance but it's a shame that even playing in the slow speed setting we have to do that real-time and can't go back to it once the game is finished.

Sure, it's unlikely to be something you'd want to do for every game, but once in a while it might be useful.
Maybe a button to export the log like the one we have (or used to have I'm not sure it's there anymore) to export the rankings...

Ok, I see.

I note it down, but I won't do it for now, as things might change once the real-time 3D matches are operational. (if it works well enough :fear: )

I use the screen recorder to register point by point of my matches. After, I create a image that show me the resume of game point by point. This form, I can see how was my player in match.
Best 2015 results:
Title: Shanghai (s), Halle (s), Stuttgart (s), São Paulo (s)
Final: Sofia (s), Rio de Janeiro (s), Washington (s)
