Tested again with a new game and
[WT_WTA]
MinRetiringAge = 35

First year, 2017, sees the same retirees in the screenshot above
2nd & 3rd years, 2018 & 2019, only sees 34+ years old retire

So, apart from the edge case of the first year, it seems to work fine.

I just had a quick question: How do you activate the Real 3D Matches in TE'M2? I looked everywhere and I couldn't find it.

Thanks :)!

So, I'm a bit confused Manutoo.

When you say in today's comments on the new build:
Real Time 3D Matches : (you need to activate the DevMode in Tennis.ini to reach them through the Training Club)

Is it something that we can actually test or not?
Because I set DevMode but can't figure out what to do. I get the overlay text in the upper left corner and the Key menu at the bottom of the Training screen "6_Rally 2_Return 6_Serve 0.05_Norm <-1>" but I'm stumped

Hi Manu! I've been trying out matches and I have a few things I'd like to point out.

I like how the game feels, and the errors players make seem more realistic. However, it's still really difficult to have a high-shot rally. Many balls end up in the net, but I felt it was ok for them to end up in the net as I hit them, so that's good

Also, I don't like topspin as it is. I think it has a really short lenght and should bounce deeper in the court. Acceleration shots could go a bit deeper but they're ok. I know you had to change that and you'll rework it but I guess some feedback can't hurt!

Another thing that seemed weird was I raised Player 2's stats to 80 (in all stats) and tried simulating a few sets and she won all of them 6-0, even though there's only a 5 point difference with Player 1 (75 in all stats). Is that normal? Because I feel like it should be a closer matchup between the two.

Overall, I liked the improvements, although they obviously need fine tuning. Keep up the good work! :D

P.S.: I'm used to playing TE2013 with a joystick but I couldn't make it work here, even though I selected it and changed my bindings from inside the character sheet. I don't know if that's a common problem or if I just messed it up somehow

Strikeware203,
yes, there's a lot of tuning to do, so feedback to help me do this tuning is very welcome !

So I just looked a bit more at that topspin depth and found it was too short when standing far from the baseline ; I also raised its depth a tiny bit in all situations. Let me know if it feels better now. In TE2013, on average, the topspin was definitively too deep compared to real life ; I'd like to get much closer to reality in TEM2/TE4.

For your test, both players had the same difficulty level ? If yes, did they have the same style ? If not, it might be because attacking is OP (or maybe defense ?), or topspin is too strong or too weak. With 75% in service, a player should be able to hold his serve often enough against a 80%-player, but that may not be the case currently.

Thanks to your report, I also fixed the control selection which was indeed broken... :blackeye:

Hey Manu! I tried the new update. The joystick now works! :D

I think topspin should go just a bit deeper, because at the moment I don't feel like it's hurting my opponent. Acceleration feels a bit overpowered, especially shoulder height, maybe it could be slowed down but have a greater lenght?

I played Master 1 difficulty against player 2 with 80 in all stats in a clay court and found it easy to defend at times. I broke her serve twice and won 6-2. I'm used to playing Master 7 in TE2013 so maybe that had something to do with it, though I don't know if there's really a big difference between Master 1 and Master 7.

Regarding the match simulation, I had forgotten to change player 1 to CPU
I did it again and the result was much closer!

Strikeware203,
I'll tune the topspin some more when I'll test CPU vs CPU. Right now, it's kinda ok for a 1st draw : it lacks a bit of defense, but it's likely more an issue of tuning the possibility to attack the high balls, especially in link to the shoulder height acceleration. For this one, I'll make it harder to achieve it at full speed, possibly by making it more positioning sensitive.
And when you cross well left/right the topspin strike several times in a row, it's already possible to do winners against the Pro-10 CPU, so in terms of attack, it's good enough.

And yes, the difference between Master 1 & 7 is small, but still noticeable.

 ... ':D

tennisfreak93,
TEM2 will have watchable 3D matches based on the future TE4 tennis engine, and it's testable now.

Aaaah, i understand.
So, i enabled DevMode - now i can test engine.
And this engine will used for TE4 AND for 3D matches in TEM2? Did i understand right? And will it be just watchable in TEM 2 or do i need to play myself?

And another question. i never played Tennis Elbow 2013, now when i tried the engine, is there any possibility for TEM2 players to get the key or do i need to buy on steam? Would love to play a lil bit TE2013 :applause:

Salut Manu
