Okay, Manu, but please, make Ivan Lendl Czech player. He won all his grand slams when he was Czech.

PS: All the progress looks fantastic, but me and other fans are eager to play the game. And if we will be able to play a match, it'll be the best tennis game of 2018.

PattySchnyder,
actually, I think I'll just release the demo to everybody, and maybe offer a discount to a few people with a long history of postings on the forum (like you!) if they want to play & test the full version right away.

Manutoo, I have a question!!
With the all changes in future circuit for men and women in 2019, with the creation of Transition Tour, something like that will be implemented in TEM2?
Best 2015 results:
Title: Shanghai (s), Halle (s), Stuttgart (s), São Paulo (s)
Final: Sofia (s), Rio de Janeiro (s), Washington (s)

bigu30,
I wasn't aware of this incoming change, so I just checked it and I'm not sure it'll do what they want it to do, so it might be modified again after a couple of years... :)
Anyway, it won't be in TEM2 for now, and very unlikely in TE4.

Great and funny review of TS4!
I've only played earlier versions of TS and whole heartedly agree that it is not a simulation. Or rather that it simulates something else than real tennis ;)

Also, sorry to hear about your health issues, hopefully now all behind you and looking forward to TE4

Spicer,
glad to know you enjoyed the read ! :)

For my health, I'll need to check the result in 1 month... :fear:

Hey Manu! Hope you're feeling better!

That TS4 review was spot on! It really helps to understand why TE2013 feels so good. Sure, it's not perfect and I know you can make TE4 even better, but it actually feels like a simulation.
Having played tennis and watching professional tennis all the time, it feels authentic, and I think your knowledge of tennis really translates into the game.

Can't wait for TE4! :D

bosco,
it's same than TEM1 : in the demo, the career stops after 2 years or a final in a major tournament.

2 comments about things you wrote Manu

1) One possibility would be to add a small random chance to miss any strike, even when perfectly positioned and prepared early. This would even enhance a bit the realism, as real players do random mistakes all the times. But for the user, it'd be hard to interpret and thus to understand if the error comes from trying too hard (eg: aiming too close to the lines) or just from a stupid mistake. Maybe I'll change my mind on this point after some feedback, though... :)

I calculated it'd require only a ~3% chance to miss per strike to lower from 7.5 rally length to 5.5, which would be really close of an average tough match on clay. But it could be hard to tune if I want this chance to not be completely random ; eg: making dependent on the strike consistency, and/or of the mental skills, and possibly of the surface or ball speed (so a good player would do a bit less stupid mistake when facing a lower skilled opponent).

----> Don't bring RNG in the game. At least not in multiplayer. We want precision, we want to be rewarded for our precision. It would be frustrating to hit shots perfectly and see them going out for no reason. It doesn't exist in real life btw : when you hit perfectly, it just goes in. It goes out because the player took too much risk in terms of target zone. UE should be caused by players, never by the engine!! That's what made TE so great, no script like that!

2) The tiredness: players in real life are never tired. The stamina concept doesn't exist, it should not exist in tennis video games. It does have an impact over the course of a tournament, but not during a match.
