cj1984,
development delay happens for many games ; so as long as it advances, it's good enough..! :P

Is there gonna be any changes to the game itself? Because right now it feels like the exactly same game just with new design.. Anymore training aspects being developed or new management areas? Maybe adding PR/personality and love from fans. If all that is gonna change is just the design I kinda dont see why you should buy TEM2. :)
I really liked TEM so thanks for your work, but I just must express my concers about TEM2.

Drea,
if you read the mini-blog, you'll see there's already the Junior Tour, random new players in fictional years, Olympics, starting year of 1973 for the Men, and a few other little things.
You'll also see I'm planning to do a special training for the Junior players.
There are many other little & bigger improvements planned, although "PR/personality and love from fans" is not amongst them (too much text, not good for translation  ).

Biggest addition should be the possibility to watch & coach the matches in realtime 3D, ie: with TE2013 engine, but with improved physics & AI realism.

José Dimas Adão Junior,
no, but we may be able to play the match in TEM2, although gameplay may differ from TE4.

Hi Manu,

Just a feedback about the player page in TEM2. I really think the first design was the best by far. It was very clean, very readable and very modern (I don't experience the "excel" aspect you've got with it).

It looked like Football Manager which is the best reference in managers game UX: they've been tuning their UX for 20 years now with multiple slight alterations each years for every iterations. I really think you should ditch your last work and get back to this, it would improve your reviews from videogames websites as they are used to this kind of UX.

The last stuff you did looks less readable, less clear, less modern. Trust me as Trump would say :)

HiManu,
I'm not sure if you're right or wrong, but there's a couple of reason 1st design can't work : there's no indication for the potentials ; plus in case I want to add new skills, it'd be hard to tune it, while with the last design it'd take a couple of minutes.
Another major reason for me is that the last design allows me to notice the strengths and weaknesses of a player in a couple of seconds as it needs only to look visually at the skill bars, while in the 1st design, it'd require to read & remember all the numbers.

Else, even if you're right, don't worry : in 10 years, TEM1 never got any review anywhere, and I can't remember a single person who played it coz he liked management games and not tennis. So TEM1 & TEM2 are actually games for tennis fans who want some management instead of playing tennis, for the pleasure to live on the Tour with their player(s).

One last note : did you look at the screenshots in the fullscreen ? I think the last design works much better in fullscreen than in a small thumbnail.

Anyway, thanks for your feedback ! :jap:

I agree with him Manu, I think the first design looks perfect, very 2018!

I agree with the two guys above. If TE & TEM didn't get reviews, it's mainly because of their visual aspect (but also because you don't seem to share news outside of this forum, so it must be hard for them to discover your projects...).

So in my opinion, you'd better opt for the most modern design to make the tennis management concept more appealing. If you face trouble to display a lot of features on the player page, get inspiration from other successful games (like FM)! Or just put these stats elsewhere on a different tab

jolamouche,
Early version should come soon if I can get some actual work done (which didn't happen for almost 3 weeks now  ).
v1.0 version, maybe for June, but low chances at this point.

Hello Manu,

I have a question about player nationality. Will be in TEM2/TE4 changeable nationality?
First example are players like Martina Navratilova, Monica Seles who emigrated to the USA (or Ivan Lendl-he just changed his nationality in 92).
And second example are players whose countries have been dissolved or splitted - Czechoslovak, Soviet, Yugoslav players (example: Jana Novotna, Natasha Zvereva, Novak Djokovic).

...

And Manu, any new updates about TEM2 or TE4? :D

Sali_O296,
no change of nationality (although it wouldn't be too hard to implement, but it'd require additional checking for the Davis Cup).
No change in geography, I explained why in the mini-blog.

I almost didn't work on TEM2 since 1 month, but hopefully in a couple of days, I'll have done a bit and so I'll write a new mini-post... :)
