Ufiors,
I just released my new game a couple of weeks ago : http://store.steampowered.com/app/409450 .
Now I'm patching it and adding popular requested features to it, and I'm going to set the Modding support for it, and then I'll be able to start to work on TEM2 ! It may happen in December if I'm not too tired, else it'll be in January.

Playing TEM 1 and seeing how great it is (even though it being quite old) I'm really looking forward to TEM 2... I have one annoying question: How long do you usually work on a game and is there any way you can kinda predict a release date?

Til,
my planning says about 6 months to do everything I want. But it's a planning for full speed work. So with disturbance, unplanned stuff and lack of motivation & focus, it could last longer. So in all cases, it's nearly impossible to have TEM2 released before September.

Manutoo,
wow, those are some great news! I didn't expect it to be ready this year. I can't wait!

I have another suggestion to make. What kind of bothered me in TEM was that your player could only train on one surface (hard-court) in the begging. On the real circuit one can see that players get to train on all kind of surfaces in order to get a better preparation. If they don't have the surface in their club they just travel somewhere where they can train on that surface. It would be cool if you would have to buy courts in order to train on other surfaces.
The reason why it bothered me was, that I'm from Germany, where we almost only have clay courts. And I was never able to train on clay with my player even though this should probably be the surface they are most familiar with.

Another thing that would be cool to have is the possibility to train at least a bit during tournaments (like 1-2 hours every second day). And maybe to be able to ask other players that are at the same venue if they want to function as a sparring in those training sessions. Maybe it would be possible that they don't play exhibitions like in TEM where points count but just to stay in shape and hit some balls or as in real life maybe get some tips and pointers from better or top player like when a Djokovic trained with a Zverev e.g.

I have a few suggestions for the next version:
1. It would be cool to be able to play even before 1990, let's say from the beginning of the open era (1968 I believe) with some legends like Rod Laver, Ashe, Borg Connors, McEnroe, etc.
2. It would be nice to have more detailed statistics about the match in order to fine tune the player, to know how the points were lost (lobs, passing, forced errors, etc.), length of the rallies and per set statistics for instance.
3. I think the length of the matches does not fit the current character of the matches: a 5-set match including 1 or 2 tie-breaks ending with a score of 14-12 at the fifth should be longer than 4 hours and usually the level of play should decrease significantly at the end. I see my player with 30% form still playing at 100% energy, that doesn't make sense.
4. Give the possibility to have a few saved training patterns. Especially at the end of the year, I give more or less the same pattern every week for 5-6 weeks. It is a long and not particularly enjoyable part of the game.

Eager to see the new version.

Til
1- you can already buy new courts in the Coach Center ; so the only option needed for you would be to select the initial court instead of being forced to have the Cement one

2- You have 2 hours of training per day during tournaments, but it's reduced if you play both Singles and Doubles, or if you play a long Singles match

3- You can practice with other players of your current tournament by clicking on a surface in your character sheet ; you can do same at the Coach Center to practice with your sparring partner or other coached players

punch,
1- what is called the tennis modern era starts in 1974 ; TEM2 will probably start at this year, or 1980 at worst

If possible I think increasing the player cap to 8 players would be cool - maybe add an achievement for coaching all 8 players into the end of year tournament?
Like others have also said, it would be nice to be able to pick a pre-existing player to start with instead of having to create our own, something similar to the tennis elbow game.
