>> person receiving a serve can go all the way back to the wall . This does not happen in reality

I have seen several players (Roddick pops up in 1st in my mind) behind _6_ meters after the baseline to return services...

>> Nor does being able to go to the other side of the court to serve

the _other_ side ? I'm not sure what you mean. Normally, the server can move only through half the court. That's the tennis rule.
If he can go on the other side, it's a bug.

And if you have some trouble returning when your opponent serves from beside the inside lane line, then you should practice more, coz actually, it's easier to do a winning return in this case. (coz a lot more angle)

THE FORHAND SHOULD BE NORMALLY MUCH STRONGER THAN THE BACKHAND!

I would like an increase in the stat side of things. gives you something to aim for.

example:
A list by year for each tournmant of winners and runners up

A Total list of all tournmants you have won and which year since you started playing that game.

A head to head count with every player you have played since you started that particular game

Most tournemants won in a single season, most ranking points gained in a season, etc

you get my drift, as much stats and charts as possible to keep you intrested in a game.

Cheers

Here are my suggestions again:

-Add rain delay to matches.
-Add shot spot ability.
-Probability for EACH linesmen/women to call ball in or out.
-Probability for the umpire to correctly or incorrectly call the ball.
-Player is allowed to challenge the ball.
-Player is allowed to use emotions.
-Player is penalized during matches for showing bad emotions.
-Add all names to scoreboard with rank and seeding.
-Stat pack pop ups (with fastest forehand/backhand, service aces, break point, set point conversions, series lead over a singles or doubles player you've played before, etc.).
-Injury for those who play too much tournaments.
-Handicapped ranking for injured players.
-Ranking penalty for players who do not play TE 2008 for a while!! Keep playing guys. If you are not injured, the same thing happens in real life. Hehe.

These are some of my ideas. Thanks.

i think it would be good if you could watch other people play and if you didnt want them to watch you could boot them from the game and it would be good if it doesnt run out of time when youre playing

And you should be able to pay over mobile phone to get full version

you should disable the posibility of a drop shot from the reurn of serve! this would be done if the normal serve was enabled in fair mode. anyone can master the reurn of serve, but to be able to hit a let cord on every return of serve (as some players do) is just not realisitc.

also you should disable the smah - drop shot, which a lot of players use, and that doose not exsist in reality (it is when you lob your oponent and he hits a smah that lands right in front of the net).

I don't think this game needs to strive for complete reality, I think it's more fun this way. Especially since if you disable the possibility of a dropshot return, it will be far too easy for serve-and-volleyers to hold serve. I personally use the dropshot return, since it's pretty much the only chance to break, and I've had a lot of fun points because the point could go on a bit longer, rather than just a serve and volley put away. If the dropshot return gets disabled, then the effectiveness of serve-and-volley should be lowered, for balance.
This game is already very realistic in many ways, but I wouldn't mind if complete reality was the goal, but then a lot of the games dynamincs would need to be changed, and I think it would be very hard to make a game that is totally realistic and yet has good playability and fun factor.
But in general, things don't need to be changed just because someone can't handle something, it takes some practice.

I have many suggestions, like putting more emphasis on different styles, power hitter, volleyer, grinder, varied, etc. but they really would need to be equally effective styles, so that a player could choose what he/she finds most fun to play without having to worry about it being inferior to others.
But this was another story.

The point was, return dropshot can't be disabled, since it's an essential part of a returners tactic against serve-and-volleyers, alongside with lobs and sometimes some suprisingly accurate regular return shots that the server can't reach.

Maybe too for online games.......you are only able to use a few accelerated shots during a point. Several of my online matches are nothing more than 2 people bashing the hell out the ball the whole match with no rallies. The funnest matches and most challenging to me are the ones where you set up points and THEN go for the big one. Ive beat a few of these players and lost to a few..........but the matches are boring as hell..........a bunch of accelerated shots in a row from side to side.............then a drop shot........over and over and over. Some of these players I dont even click on to play anymore its so mundane. Just a thought :)

yes, the drop shots are too easy. and very unrealistic. it cheapens the game and is underhand tactic, not straight-up.
doing drop shot all the time is not tennis let alone realistic tennis. must be addressed in future i think.
takes no skill to do drop shot all the time...very boring...and on return of serve especially...cant be done in real life and is very fake

Possibility for Mac users to play online with PC users:
- this is probably the only thing I REALLY wish to happen, if Quake and bunch of other games can have it....... I've been playing the game for some time now and it gets boring to play against the computer all the time, I already know all the tactics and have no problem to beat all incredible skilled players

Davis Cup:
- possibility to pick the surface in some ties, I'm playing 3rd rubber now and the computer chose the same surface as in the previous 2.

Make the game less stereotypic!
- more sounds! that goes for umpires (especially those line umpires are annoying screaming FAULT the same way all the time), crowds, players etc. Yes it will increase the size but who cares, it's 2007 and everybody can download 100 megs in less than an hour.
- more textures, especially those background walls that look the same in every tournament. Also the net could sometimes have logos at the side, for example Mercedes Benz which can be seen at many real tournaments (maybe you could contact Mercedes and they could pay you some cash if you put the logo in the game LOL)
- definitely adding more color variations to the surfaces. In some tournaments, indoor courts have inner color dark red and outer color red, in other tournaments, the same surface has outer color green, Russian courts are even light blue etc.
- more types of players and definitely more clothing

How about .......when you go into the "practice/warm up" court..........you can also have a chance to practice your serving as well.
