'98 Tour Diary at Tennis Elbow

Postby FilipeMB » 25 Dec 2006, 05:01

Well,
My name is Felipe Barbosa and I decided to edit the database in order to resimulate the '98 tennis season at Tennis Elbow. I put the 260 best players in the game and almost all tournaments.
If anybody wants this mod, i am free to host it to everyone. I didn't get to edit the visual part of each player so, sorry about this and about some changes I did in the schedule and player abilities.
I played in the Club level and I only my debut in the Club level and in the '98 mod in the week 4.

WEEK 1
I decided to not take part of any championship in this week in order to train a little bit. But, I can report what happened this week. There was four tournaments happening: Qatar Mobil Open and Int'l Series of Adelaide.
Although Qatar had a bigger prize, both had top players playing on thos

Qatar Mobil Open top players: Patrick Rafter (#3), Yevgeny Kafelnikov (#5), Alex Corretja (#8 ), Thomas Muster (#9), Thomas Johansson (#39), Fabrice Santoro (#25).

Qatar Mobil Open facts to remembers: The old Boris Becker (#52) won against Kafelnikov in the first round and the seventh-seeded Jiri Novak (#38 ) losing against Nicolas Escude (#82) in the first round. Nicolas Escude happened to play against the top-seeded Rafter and lost (6-4 6-2).

Adelaide top players: Jonas Bjorkman (#2), Petr Korda (#13), Goran Ivanisevic (#15), Jim Courier (#20)
Adelaide facts to remember: In Adelaide, the good players who played there as seeded ones were:
Andre Agassi (he didn't play a lot of tournaments in '97 and he was only #174) came from qualifying and lost against Marc Rosset in the first round (#69) and eventually lost in the semi-final against Petr Korda (7-6 6-4). Jim Courier won the tournament playing against Petr Korda in the final (4-6 7-5 7-5).

WEEK 2
I didn't played again but here is a good report on this week.

Adidas International top players: Magnus Norman (#16), Magnus Larsson (#28 ) and Tommy Haas (#31)
Adidas International facts to remember: A unknown player (at that time) called Agustin Calleri came from the qualifying and won the Championship. He won against another qualified player Orlin Stanoytchev in the first round and then in the quarter final he won against second-seeded Magnus Larsson (6-4 6-4). In the semifinal, He played against the american David Wheaton that defeated Tommy Haas in the first round and won. In the final, he played against Wayne Black (he defeated top-seeded Magnus Norman at quarter final and then defeated Hicham Arazi at the semi final) and won with a 6-2 6-2.

Bellsouth Open top players: Pete Sampras (#1), Sergi Brugera (#4)
Bellsouth Open facts to remember: Pete Sampras got to play against Marat Safin (newcomer, #232) in the first round and had lot of trouble in this match winning with a 7-6 (6) 4-6 7-6 (8 ). After this, he had a free way for the title, playing the final against Sergi Brugera and winning with a 6-4 7-5.

Tomorrow I countinue with my first match and my first championship...
Thanks and hope you guys like,

Felipe
