Help with how training works

Postby webman2k » 20 Nov 2006, 04:50

Hello all,

I understand that you gain training points for wining (and losing) matches, and that in order to use those points, you have to skip a week or more of tournament play. the more weeks you skip, the more your stats go down.

But I noticed something odd, and I'm not quite sure why it's happening. I just finished week a tournament in 6, with 117 training points gained from the last tournament. If I choose a tournameent in week 7, I see that I lost my training points - that's expected according to the game rules.

However, if I choose a tournament in week 8, all of a sudden I have 42 training points. Why did I lose so many training points? Also, If I choose a tournament in week 9 or later, I have all 117 points.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hello,

you can spend 6 training points per free day. You don't lose your training points, you can see the total of your training points in your "Character Sheet".
In the training screen, you see only the number of available training points depending of the number of free days since your last match.

OK, that explains the 42 points for the next week, since 6 points per day plus the 7 days off is 42, but how come the week after I get all the points? Shouldn't I only have 84 available then?

Also, there are 3 events per week. Does it matter which one I choose as far as time goes? What I mean is, if I choose the first one one week and then the last one another week, does more time go by than if I choose the first one from the same second week?

Thanks for your help!

Hello,

>> Shouldn't I only have 84 available then?

You probably entered the qualifications of a tournament, which gave you free days from Monday to Thursday on the 3rd week.

>> Also, there are 3 events per week

If you enter a tournament having a draw of 32 players, you'll have the Monday free, so it'll give an additional day for training.

The order of the tournaments in a week doesn't have influence on their timetable, only the size of their draw matters.

OK, making a little more sense now. But I think the overall scheme is a bit confusing. Perhaps (in an update or next version) displaying events on a real calendar interface would clear things up?

Or, even simpler, a readout under each tournament that displays how many training points you'll have available if you enter that tournament. That might make it a little easier to figure out how it all works using the current system.

Hello,

the number of available training points will vary depending if you need to play qualifications or not, and it can't be known in advance all the time.

But after you have done your training, you'll see the tournament draw showing the current day on bottom right, so it should help you to understand how many free days you got.

The number of training days is also shown on top left of the training screen.
