no, there won't be an 2D option.
But only the players will be 3D, so the gameplay will still feel to be 2D (ie: no moving camera).
And I aimed the poly count so the game should still run quite fine on a P2 at 600mhz with a Geforce 1 (the top 3D card of 7 years ago ).
And I guess the game should still be playable on a P2 at 400mhz with a TNT2 card (the top 3D card of 8 years ago ).
