It happens quite often that umpires make wrong decisions lol. It's like in real tennis. I don't pay attention to it.

Aren't you just seeing the shadow of the ball, and not the ball? The ball cannot be seen in that picture.

On second look, I do now see the ball, which is at the lower border of the screen, to the left of the back of the player. Hmmm...so the detail that you are pointing out is the mark that the ball left? Interesting.

Hello,

2 things :
- there's some display imprecision
- the mark is slightly bigger than it should be, to be more visible

or maybe it's the line judge who has short sight... :P

I did some tests while working on TE2008 to put the ball trace at the correct size, and actually, it's almost invisible in this case..!
So I checked, and in TE2006, the ball trace is 2 times bigger than the reality, that's one of the main reasons why it can looks to be on the line, but still called out.

Unfortunately, it'll be the same for TE2008, coz even in 1680x1050, the ball trace disappears when it's on the end of the opposite side.

By the way, by default, the ball is 40% bigger than in reality, although it looks natural like this. But you can check it's too big on the serve strike, comparing the ball size to the racket size...
