Adding effects during preparation of your strike

Postby Christopher » 10 Apr 2008, 04:52

Hi,

Manutoo, you stated this in a previous post:

"...when you add slice effect during the preparation of your strike, and then you do a top spin strike, the slice effect is now in the correct direction, thus you can do the famous Nadal passing..!"

And, I read elsewhere about prepararing for a slice, and then being able to run around without losing this effect, and then hitting the ball with just holding down button 2 to get the prepared slice effect. But, I don't know what all of this means. Would you please explain what is meant by preparing your strike and adding effect. Am I supposed to start holding down say button 2 and the up button while I am waiting on my opponent to strike the ball, before I have repositioned my player to strike the ball? I'm just not sure about how to add these effects. I normally just wait until the ball is near and then press the combination of buttons needed to strike the ball, say button 1 + button down for topspin, but apparently there is something that I can do in advance of this step to add more variation to the strike.

Thank you!

yes, you can do that. It's the way to get the strongest effect possible.

To practice the effects, just do a warm-up against the CPU, you should have plenty of time to try everything.
