Player able to set ELO at will

Postby Christopher » 07 Apr 2008, 07:18

Not sure what is going on, but I had another encounter with Jimbo, the Rocket. In addition to cursing, he also kept refusing to leave me alone even though I rejected him numerous times from my hosted games. He ended up using my nickname to host games with. So, I finally hosted a game with the message stating that the real "me," using my nickname, was the one with ELO 492, which is what my ELO was at the time. I set my ping limit to 200, as he had a higher ping and this was all I could do to keep him from continuing to try to join my game.

Then later, I stopped hosting and looked for hosted games to join. There was Jimbo, using my Nick, with the ping limit set to 250, with a private message matching the one I had used (claiming to be the real "me"), and also somehow he had set his ELO, as seen in game information, to be exactly 492. How can he do this? Also also earlier he kept creating new users to host with, which had an ELO of 1000, but this time it was 492. My main concern is how can he be making up his ELO to match whatever he wants? Other than that, he is not being very cordial, but I guess unfortunately this is not something that anyone can do anything about.

Thanks

Hello,

hum, that's annoying... I guess this guy figured out how to manually change the ELO, it's not too easy, but for a geek, it shouldn't be too complicated as well...

Did you buy the full version ?
With it, normally, your name is protected, so he shouldn't be able to set the exact same name than yours...

No. I haven't bought the full version, yet. I probably will, though. I really like the game.

Thank you!
