i recently bought a new laptop and on it i have a problem whit the resolution of the game as the picture is strechted on the screen when i put it in full screen mode.\
here is a pic:



is there a way to fix this so that i can play the game in full screen mode again and have the normal picture? i have tried every resolution in the game and i get the same problem. the resolution of the display is 1280x800; i dont have this problem with some other games...

you did a screenshot of the game in a maximized window. In such case, you have to manually set the window size to be of a 4:3 ratio (or you can use the in-game display menu as well) .

In real fullscreen, you have to configure your display driver in such a way that it will force a 4:3 ratio for 4:3 all resolutions ; for example, setting the display to 1024x768 will add some black bars on the left and right of the screen to display the correct ratio.

You'll have the same problem with all older games, and 2D games, and you'll need the same solution to correct that...

how do i force a 4:3 ratio in the game? where is that option in the game?

it's not an option in the game, but it should be in your display drivers configuration panel.
I have it with my NVidia drivers ( name = Use NVidia scaling with fixed-aspect ratio), and it is very likely that recent ATI/ADM & Intel drivers have this option as well...

my laptop has a sis mirage 3 graphics, and i just can't seem to find that option...

humm, then there's not much you can do, except playing in windowed mode...
Maybe you could try to download the latest version of your display drivers, if you didn't already, just in case...

i guess i'll have to get used to it, but it's harder to play...
