you should not copy the whole TEM2 Modding SDK folder into your Mods folder, else you'll have some issues later on. Only copy the files you want to change.

Having an older Mod shouldn't impair the parsing of PlayPeriod.

But it can lead to the issues with the name. You should compare it to the latest version in the Modding SDK, to check there's no important thing missing.
