For the grass court, you need a 0-sized Court_Used.jpg file as well.

To create it, create a .txt file, then rename it from "New Text Document.txt" to "Court_used.jpg".

1) It's indeed a texture for the TE2009 Net, so it should work.
I just tested and I could activate the TE2009 Net as the default one without a problem.

2) Yes, the CustomCourt should work like in TE2013 right now (IIRC).
