it's because if you didn't get any win in the draw, you get the points on the previous round you have reached. For example, in Madrid & Rome, you got bye on 1st qualies round, and lost on 2nd round, so you got 0 point, and not 8.

You can however lower the runspeed (using MtRun cheat parameters) which can produce a similar effect.
