you can't do either.

You can however play in Season mode and start any year of the base, but then you won't have training anymore, your skills won't change over the year.

1) if players start with 400 points, then it won't change anything except everybody will have 2.5 times less ELO points.

2) Future years will be random, so you'll be able to Mod the game to create a starting year of your choice, and then see it randomly evolves.

It doesn't slow down your player. If there was no auto-strike, very often you'd not be able to hit the ball in time, especially with strike anims having a long preparation.
