About ELO and remapping

Postby Rayn » 16 Apr 2014, 20:53

Hey Manu, can you please help me out here?

I don't get the ELO penalty rule. I play someone who constantly swaps to another application, and all of a sudden things get sloooow, so slow that it's impossible to play.
I was leading 4/3 and when I give up I loose 6 ELO points and besides, I get -19 ELO penalty. How is that??? I really don't get it.

Another thins is about remapping, I don't get that either. It's no use training all day with specific profile and when I play online, everything gets remapped and my player has totally different skills. I mean, come on. I have 100% serve consistency and 100% serve precision and I never get a first serve in. My fisrt serve percentage is always below 75%. It's frustrating to play like that :(

Hope you give me some answers. Many thanks!!

Hello,

1- if you quit a match that you're not clearly leading, you'll get an ELO penalty.

2- go to Misc Options, and set Skill Mode to the Realistic or Fair before starting a match vs the CPU.

Thanks Manu. The second question was more about online play. Because after every online match, I notice that the skills are different.

You mean the skills in your character sheet are changed after you have played an online match ?
This is not normal... Did you Mod the game ?

Anyway, try to have 780 points left in your Character Sheet, maybe it'll prevent the skill changes...

I have this doubt for a while, if Realistic and Fair modes are exclusive to online games or if they affect career as well. According to your words, they DO affect career, right?

Yes, that is exactly what happens. I did not Mod the game. I will save a screenshot next time to show you. And I do have 780 points left and my serve speed is at 70%.

Many thanks Manu!!

antimouse,
You have an offline Skill mode in Misc Options available only in the Training Club, not in World Tour.

Rayn,
ok, this is very strange then... :fear:

And it only happens when I host. Every time after playing when I host, I need to change skills. When I join, nothing changes :(

Rayn,
if you still have the menu pop up about setting your skills, then just answer "no, and don't ask again".

Hahahahaha, at first I thought you were telling me not to ask again hahaha.

I just did what you told me and yes, it worked. It doesn't change anymore.

Many thanks Manu, always willing to help :) :applause: :applause: :applause:

I still don't get it why I loose 21 ELO points when I was leading 4-3 and the lag was horrible. And then I play with a guy, I'm winning 4-0, there is zero lag and he looses only 9 ELO points. How do you explain that Manu?

You need to lead by 2 games to give up without penalty.

And =>https://www.managames.com/tennis/doc/Tennis_Elbow-Tennis_Game.html#ELO .
