Postby Stefan Edberg » 21 May 2008, 00:57

I´ve played 2 matches against Togdyalatti (?) and both matches we diden´t finished in time (demo). First match the score was 1-5 and second was 0-5 and tottaly i get about 40-50 elo points.....?? I´m glad over points but not in this way.. This must be a bug... By the way after the first match we get in to chat and none of us couldent get out of there... :?: :?:

When you play someone with many more points than you........you can still gain points even if you lose. Look at it as being rewarded for playing good against a good/better player. It also encourages newer players to play top players without worrying about elos too much........even if they lose. Ive gotten much better playing "master" players.......knowing I was going to lose.........but held my own and picked up a few points along the way. On the flip side.......if you have around 1800 points and want more.........you have to beat top players to make big gains........instead of just playing club players. The moral of the story is..........by playing players with high ELO,s.........you improve yourself. When you do play these players..........try to study what they do.........how they serve.........and move around the court. All of this makes the game much more entertaining for yourself.........as well as your opponent..........NOW GO PLAY !!!!........and dont be afraid to have your ass kicked !!!! hahahahahaha !

Hello Zozzy,

GUEST is right, but I guess in this case, it's coz of the time limit hit that you got ELO. When the demo time limit is up, the game will more or less randomly choose a winner...

I remember that match. It sucked, losing all that ELO. :S
Record (since coming back from ban): 24-6

Winner: Banja Luka, Vienna
F: Paris
SF: Newport, Bucharest, Beijing, Tokyo, Basel
QF: Wimbledon, Indianapolis

Once again, I recall : the ELO is here to show ur average level. If you can get 3 games out of a player with a very high ELO while your ELO is low, then it means ur ELO should raise & his should lower...
