Tennis Elbow 2011 : Beta 2

General discussions about the 3rd edition of Tennis Elbow

Tennis Elbow 2011 : Beta 2

Postby manutoo » 19 May 2010, 08:33

Hello,

>> Read everything in this post before installing the game ! <<

here the 2nd Beta of TE2011..!

The purpose of this Beta is to test the upgrade process from TE2009.
If you already bought TE2009 & want to see 3D court in TE2011, you can upgrade from here for US$9.95 or EUR7.5 :
- https://www.managames.com/tennis/promo2009_en/ [English]
- https://www.managames.com/tennis/promo2009_fr/ [French]
/!\ : depending of your case, upgrading to TE2011 might cancel your TE2009 License Key, so you'll have to install your new TE2011 Key both to TE2011 folder & TE2009 folder.

A lot of stuff will state TE2009 instead of TE2011, but your actual License Key should work with TE2011 & give u access to all 3D courts. If it doesn't, please report it so I could fix it ASAP.

Anyone buying the full version of TE2009 is now getting a License Key that works with both TE2009 and TE2011.

Also, all TE2009 License Keys since last April 1st have been converted to TE2011 compatible ones. So if you bought TE2009 since April 1st, download again your Key Register (from your License Key email) and you should be able to enjoy the 3D Courts with this Beta.

If you want to keep playing online with regular TE2009 users, you should install TE2011 in a new folder, to keep your current TE2009 folder intact.

And finally, comments on the different 3D Courts are welcome...

Note: you can play the World Tour with this Beta, but your saved games won't be compatible with the final TE2011 release.

Hey manu

Great great courts. I love it. :D :D

Only one problem. The grass court texture is flickering on my computer. :( Like a graphics glitch.
Help would be appreciated

I really like the inclusion of the 3rd Person camera. And the Subjective camera view is better now than before (less seasick effect).
For gameplay in the future, it would be good to include something like pressure-sensitive button effect. The longer/harder you push down on the button, the more effect/speed of a shot. And if you don't push down on the button very hard, then the result should be a slower, less effective shot. Nothing drastic, maybe like 5-10 mph difference between light press and hard press. But it would definitely add more to the experience of playing, since footwork isn't the only factor to take into account whether a shot is hit good or not. In real life, I can put extra power on a shot if I use more arm momentum, and I think that this should be implemented to a degree in the game by the implementation of pressure-sensitive button presses (or whatever the technical term is :) .

edit: Yes, the grass court flickers on my computer also.

can the 3rd person camera be player perspective rather than ball perspective, or split it up to both options?, as it is now, as well as with subjective camera, if my opponent hits a winner, the camera would turn around quickly to keep showing the ball, and idk, it's dizzing me a bit when it comes back to normal
Other than that, those 2 new cameras are a perfect add to the game.
I can't remember: which is the default slice anim now?
Also agree with Brad1981, if I remember correctly, that was in TE 06, right?
Brad1981 and koeloe: have you already upgraded it? or are you using 09's key?, I want to check that grass court glitch myself but don't want to buy it yet

Flickering Grass : I added a download link for the patch to fix it in 1st post of this topic.

Brad1981, this is not a suggestion topic, but I'll answer this one. For topsin / slice, the more long time you press, the more effect you get. For all other shots, the more long time you press, the deeper / shorter it gets (depending if it's long or short), so the effectiveness of shots is already depending of the time you press the buttons. It's also affect ball speed in some cases, but it's usually not much noticeable.

Algo, in 3rd person cam, keeping following the ball, but limiting the turn around 45° would do the trick ?
What is the default slice anim ? old one or new one ? Old one = 1/2 ; New one = 2/2 .

And yup, they bought the game (thanks to them :) ), so they have access to grass...
And the 1st one to have upgraded the game using Paypal got BALLOONrain for free ; it was a lil bug, but I guess it's nice reward to be the 1st one to have tested the upgrading process... ':D

Grass court glitch is fixed. Manu, I don't think there should be umbrellas up during play. Usually they are put up only during changeovers because they block the spectators' view. But it is a nice graphic nonetheless. But could you give us the option of maybe removing them, if we wish to? So it kind of makes the court look less cluttered.

either that or make the turn back a bit slower, I think it's more the speed of it that's dizzing me than the turn itself

hello all,

not really a good computer wizz, but i have a few questions if anyone can help.

the links above they are permanent once you install them or is this just a demo version and that is all? or is full version?

do i need to download both links? the game and the patch in order for things to go smooth?

and still a little consfused about keys when i do install this version will i need a new key or just use the old key and it should be fine?

sorry just not good with computers but i love the game.

and mana just awesome things you guys/girls do, i really really appreciate it, your time and effort and i am sure all of your gamers do. thank you very much for putting your customers first and focusing on gameplay over graphics thanks again cant wait for the next update. Game, set, match.

Richou, your Customer ID written in bold in your License Key email.

Deuce, the download link in 1st post is to download the demo of TE2011 , like you downloaded the one of TE2009 before. You have to add your License Key to make it the full version. If you add your TE2009 Key, it'll work, but you won't have access to the 3D courts. Right now, the demo includes the Patch #2, as stated, so you don't have to dl anything more.
If you're not comfortable with game folder & such things, you should better wait for the final release, it'll be then a bit easier to set up everything.

Manu, did you change anything with the "weight" or whatsoever of the application? It seems that with beta 2 I can play now with some spectators seeing me - and me seeing them!
