Richou def JHON-DIM 6-2 6-2 6-3

you have no idea how much negativity i had coming into this match, but thankfully it was much quicker today than we usually have when we've played in the past, which was great, because i didnt get so annoyed at the lag we usually have.

But to be fair, i dont think that he played as well as he can, he hit alot of errors which helped me.

anyway, good game JHON, i know you'll have your chance in other tournaments

The truth is that richou played very good and I had nohing to do. I don't want to make excuses because you played incredibly and I think I was lucky to win 7 games in the whole match. It's also true that I did more errors than usually and that killed me. (and i played some matches yesterday and in really played very bad); Anyway, I want to congratulate Richou because he was a fair play during all the match. I expect your behaviour will be the same in future
matches and I wish you good luck againts TOG

Ok here it is...It was laggy match...slow motion...I played good, he played better, I mean its very hard to make winner against him, his movement is great...but I doubt that he would ever won first two sets that easy If I had normal conditions or If I had time to adapt...he gave me few minutes to adapt, but it wasn't enough. I didn't had delay, but it was very hard to get timing on the ball, and to make shot accurate.

During match I made more than 20 drop shots, maybe more, but just 3-4 of them were good...I have no idea why...but every time ball would get huuge loop, and he had no problem to catch it. And then I missed every single smash, which is also ridiculous. Partly my fault, but sometimes just ridiculous.

Also mistakes that I don't usually do regarding movement...when I make reflexively press button of opposite side than I'm running to...and I can't catch a ball. That happened at 30-30, 5-5 in 3rd set, and it many more moments, and that is because of lag....

First set
I couldn't adapt at all on lag which was 300...i won 3 points in whole set...one point was an ace, other two were his unforced errors

Second set
At 0-1, i had 3 game points, but he managed to break me, but very next game I won my first game by re breaking him. Unfortunately, my next service game I made 2 unforced errors and DF, and lost it. There was no chance to get back into the set again
In this set I won 15 points

But even with that result I felt that i can play much better, I did not play bad, I was playing quite good, but he was catching it all, and he was pretty lucky even during this set. Every time when I tried to attack him my shot went out by millimeter. It was hard to get timing while hitting the ball.

Third set
Well that set I started better, although I saved BP in first game, I broke him in second quite easy. Then he got lucky two times, I made an error, and he rebroke me.
At 2-2, I saved another 2 BPs (15-30), and then again I broke him for 4-2. Then I had 30-0, but lost 5 out of next 6 points, and lost serve again.
Then at 5-5, luck got involved. First return on the line, then my error for 0-30. Next 2 points I won for 30-30.Then he made some freaking shot that was by millimeter in, you could barely see that ball was in (on outer side of line).
And then just to be perfectly unlucky match for me...every time when served slower second serve, ball went in, absolutely ever time during match...but now at 30--40 my slower serve went into the net, for another DF, and lost serve, and match
In this set I won 31 point

Togtdyalttai(1) def. Richou(6) 6-4 6-4 3-6 2-6 9-7

This was definitely the best match I've ever played. It didn't start out like it, but it got better and better as it went on.

The first two sets were really all me. He played poorly, and I played well. There were a lot of breaks, but I was able to serve out both sets.

The second two sets were about the opposite. He picked up his play, and I was a bit stunned for awhile. He kept hitting dropshot winner after dropshot winner, and there wasn't too much I could do about it because if I went further forward he would just hit it past me. He was up 4-0 at one point in the 4th, and I was happy just to win a couple games there.

The 5th set was an epic. He started out ahead, broke me at 1-1 and held to make it 3-1. I thought at that point that I was going to lose, but I kept pushing. Then I held and broke him right back to get to 3-3. At that point, both of our guys were really tired and it was getting a lot harder to return serves. What was especially difficult was running down all his wretched dropshots, but that's another story entirely. At 5-4 for me, his serve, I had a match point at 30-40, but he was able to save it, by yet another drop shot winner. Then we kept holding serve fairly easily until 8-7. At that time, I went up 15-40 on his serve with a few good shots. He saved the first match point, but I took the second.

It's awful that we had to play in the quarterfinals. This was such a good match that it was worthy of a final. I'm sorry for him that he had to lose it, because he was playing so well in the last 3 sets, better than he possibly ever has before. I know he's going to be a huge threat to anyone he plays this summer, and I wish him all the best.

Togtdyalttai def Richou 6-4 6-4 3-6 2-6 9-7

wow what a match! This was the first 5 setter either of us had played, and what a debut!
The first two sets, were blow overs for him.he served veeery well, but my returns were useless, landing mid court no power, nothing like the depth id been finding recently. He had double breaks in both i think, but played a little loose on occasion and allowed the scoreline to appear more even than it actually was

The fightback begins  Tog started strongly again, pushing me to deuce on most serice games, 2-1 or there abouts I managed to break HIM. He recovered the break straight away, then we got to 4-3 and i managed to break again. i then closed out the set.

the fourth set, i got off to a flyer, i took the first 4 games easily, maybe he'd lost some rhythm i guess. then he made some good shots and we both held until i closed out.

Final set, my momentum continued and i broke early to lead 3-2, but as in s-hertogenbosch i got a little too far ahead of myself, and he broke back straight away to get a 4-3 lead. Even still, i felt like i was playing better, pushing harder on his serves until it got to 6-6. i dont think i got nervous or anything. He had match points at 7-6* which i managed to save with some brave serving, my heart stopped, as i tried an acceleration serve on second serve to suprise him, the ball clipped the net and touched over.

Well once again, he brought up match points at 8-7 15-40. once again a good serve saved me one. THe second i was too cautious on the second serve. he hit a thumping return, which i retrieved with some good depth. but then, he hit a shorter ball and as i went to retrieve it, i knew the game was up, I was caught in no-mans land, and he hit an easy winner to close it out.

obviously im disappointed to lose such a great match, but of course congrats to tog for making another grand slam semi final :D its just such a shame that this is a quarter final match, this would have been a great final :

lol the video is worth a watch, if u have a couple of spare hours
