Help with outfits and courts

Postby antimouse » 10 Feb 2014, 18:49

Hello guys and gals,

I want to create some faces and outfits for players who are missing in Sam's Patch (I use the original Players.ATP from TE2013). I don't know why he deleted players by the way, but whatever...

Can someone please point me to directions on where to begin? I didn't find any topic about outfit editing. I noticed from others' works that all images have kind of a pattern, but I wanted to know how you usually do it. Get pictures of shirts and shorts and adapt them to the outfit image? Is it too hard?

Also, I'm desperately looking for some decent picture of Rimouski Challenger court to create a court for my tournament (I'm gonna play in this tournament and there's no court for it). If anybody can help me on that, it would be great :D

Thanks!

All the modded files from Sam's Megapatch are in Mods folder, you can find there all the mods.

Thank you, Nigogu!

But my question is more about editing the shirts, not how to add them to the game.
I want to know if it is just a matter of finding images of the real shirts and pasting them on the outfit file, putting the back side downwards etc.. Are those leaves "black holes" necessary? Some shirts don't have them. These kinds of questions that I'd like to better understand.

But thank you anyway :)

Hey Nigogu,

I was already doing that, observing the already created shirts, but I wanted know how to begin editing the shirts. Pasting textures? Drawing by hand? I don't know, so I decided to give it a try, opened Photoshop and tried to replicate this Adidas shirt used by James McGee:

I created this (not complete yet, it is missing the side stripes):

And this is my player wearing it:

Please tell me what you guys think, any comment is appreciated. This is my first try with shirts. What i did: changed hue/saturation values to get the white shirt and copy/pasted the texture from the original real shirt image. I just cut some edges and resized to adapt it to my player. Is this the best way to go? Or is there an easier way?

Thank you all!

Well, i'm not an outfitmaker, tips should be done by people like Torto, Jaydraco or Miharu (but shirt looks great  )

You've done a pretty good job! Whilst I did that particular texture from scratch (if I remember), pasting from an image and then adjusting/editing is what I do quite a lot of the time. What is easier really depends on the shirt, for simpler shapes I often find it can be easier just to draw.

Thank you for your comments, guys.
Torto, that was exactly what I was trying to find out. Thanks for sharing your experience. I intend to learn how to mod everything I can (courts, outfits, faces etc.), because I like to be able to create the things that are missing as I go along the world tour in my career. My next match is against James McGee in the Rimouski Challenger, so I'm trying to make it look as realistic as possible. Unfortunately, I had no luck with finding Rimouski court :(
