NEW Tour Mod

Postby Sampreas » 14 Oct 2014, 00:28

Hello,

As you're already informed we lost one of mods who was in charge of Challenger and futures tournaments. So now we need someone new to take care about that job. In this topic every player who thinks that he can be mod can queue himself.

Requirements are next:

1. Players with no on-going bans
2. Players with good communication skills in general
3. Players with good English skills
4. Players with good time availability for the job ;

You have to write your name, and why would you like to become one of tour mods.
Role of new mod: General Tour Management (Challenger and futures).

You have time 'till Friday to queue yourself.
Tour Mod
All Tour issues by skype and PM.

I would like to be on mod position. I think that I can make some changes, and that I can make this forum better for players. I have a lot of time. I also have some other qualitys, I know to work in different programs etc... I'm honest, and I always run for justice.

Thanks in advance. ... ShoNe :)

Application

Postby Heinrich von Westphalen » 14 Oct 2014, 13:06

Hello,
at first, I am very sad what is happened. I hoped till the end that the fishy things around Kuga / Sheraz wouldn't come true but anyway. The show must go on ... I applied for moderator already 18 month ago (which was rejected), so I will do this also this time. Following some arguments ...

  • MOTIVATION
I was and and will be always dedicated to make the tour more attractive by supporting beginners on Skype and on court, posting stat screens and match reports etc.
I will continue this, probably not just with my matches if players want to.
  • EXPERT KNOWLEDGE
I know this game like the back of my hand and be experienced in all its facets, especially in gameplay / tour (top five player in both categories), connection issues and modding. I am also knowledgeable in all required things around a phpBB based forum.
  • INCORRUPTIBILITY
There's neither an other player from my country (except HAAS who's not really active), nor I did and won't give a damn about origin, religious confession or other things that don't belong here.
  • ADDRESSABILITY
I was always and will be a competent point of contact, no matter which topic (connections issues, modding, tour, gameplay etc.) or rank the player had / has. Due to my job (currently PostDoc in an office) I was and will be also be available on Skype for the most of the time, in some cases of urgency even via Skype application on my iPhone.
  • PROMINENCE
I guess I know all considerable ladies :queen: and gentleman on this tour, which helps a lot to take the measure of them in controversial situations. Last but not least I'm the most handsome player on tour.

(Due to I know that some guys maybe will mention this) I made some mistakes in early 2013 (ban for 2 month), nonetheless I never cheated the tour (had never several accounts simultaneous on tour), insulted anyone, forced RL or other tactics on tour nor was in violation with current tour rules.

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
Heinrich von Westphalen.

I fully support Heinrich to be the new mod. He is online all the time. No past records of insult, abusung RL or other cheap tactics. He also has all the skills needed (e.g. the graphics and gameplay) to make this tour attractice and revive this dying tour. He also has gd command of English and other languages like German and Spanish. Can't think of a better candidate at the moment.

Re: NEW Tour Mod

Postby E=mc2 » 14 Oct 2014, 14:48

I would consider a person who doesn't play tour and who is not a racist like the inventor of Lag rule....
Unfortunately, I can't support Heinrich.....
1.He is a player on tour. Making a player to a Mod is always a huge risk-----> Kuga/Sher@z conspiracy....lol I sound like the people on History channel :fear:
2.He seems to be biased when he loses specially to Nadi or Nadalesque in the recent times....A mod should neither insult a player nor lose his cool unless until his integrity is questioned------>Most important argument :|

Points to consider in "Heinrich for Mod"

Postby Nigogu » 15 Oct 2014, 00:21

Hello mods, players, users and anyone reading this post.

First of all, i would like to say that all the content of this post is my opinion and should be respected by everyone as i respect all your comments.
I know i'm not a saint in this forum and maybe i don't have even the right to post in this topic but anyway...

After what happened with Kuga/$her@z, i think it all started from lies and cheating. As you can see in manutoo's topic, Kuga lied to have advantages in TE's online gaming, and cheated to keep the lie going. Thanks to manutoo and his Super Agent 86 work, we finally know the truth after a long while of Kuga's mod period.

It's obvious we need a replace for him, since Challenger and Future tournaments don't have a mod now. Between some few options (3 so far), i think the most experienced/capable guy is Heinrich von Westphalen. Actually you can see most of the posts of this topic are related to supporting his "campaign". He will reach #1 singles spot next week, he talks German, English and a bit of some other languages, he meets the requirements of the 1st post and he has plenty of experience to be mod. However there are some consider-to points:

1. He has some unreleased/unfinished projects with no specific reason for leaving them.
(i must admit all his job was pretty impressive, but he never released something for the community):
 topic29-14985.php
 topic29-14691.php
 topic29-16567.php
 topic29-15310.php
 topic29-15083.php
 topic29-14922.php
 topic29-14905.php
 topic29-14840.php
 topic29-14718.php

2. As he courageously said, he had a ban for multiple accounts. That case occured when his activity was pretty low, but lies are lies and liars never change (hopefully he changed).

3. His trollish posts (aka: bringvictory.com, mocking, and all the plenty of his jokes) show an attitude that wouldn't be appropriate as a mod.

4. Following his words, a possible retire would be planned for the start of 2015, which (i guess), forces the community to choose another mod within some few months.
Actually this would be his second "retire" after the top-spin polemic that (it looks) already finished.

Finally, as you saw in most of the topics i mentioned, i fully supported his job as TE Modder and will support him in case that mods choose him as the new Mod.
I just want the best for this community, wishing democracy will work well this time.

And no, i'm not suggesting myself or anyone else for Mod.

Kind regards,
Nigogu.
