That'd be even better to have this average, but without counting slices & dropshots... :blackeye:

TennisTV.com is having such stats during live coverage of matches. Also during AO they showed such stats. They get these data via hawk-eye.

One can sometimes find interesting stats that way. For instance, Nadal vs. Janowicz at Paris 2013: 116 kmh vs. 125 kmh groundstroke speed in average. Another one: Murray vs. Ferrer at Miami 2013, 71 mph vs. 73 mph average groundstroke speed. Federer at AO 2014 was in the same range (around 115 kmh, in the pre-match analysis of his QF they compared his groundstroke speed in 2013 and 2014), in 2013 he hit a bit faster in average.

Manutoo, i think it was displayed in the middle of the match...I think you should watch whole third set. But anyways that's too long. You can watch next time during his matches. Nadal normally has an average groundstroke speed of 112kmph(Career wise). Yeah it includes slices but most shots he plays were topspin shots(not too powerful nor as slow as slice).
In fact when Nadal is aggressive it just goes around 118kmph. Nadal normally prefers slower gameplay i.e., <118kmph  with heavy topspin and is more effective on clay for those reasons. But he can change the groundstroke speed to as high of 155kmph+ when he is control of point. Talk about power he can generate lol! People normally talk about powerful play of Delpotro , Soderling etc.,. but they normally play at that level all the time and doesn't have enough time to recover in rallies if had a bad shot. But Nadal looks for the right opportunity to blast the biggest shot in the rally and he is more dangerous because he normally gets enough time to recover in rallies. And Nadal in control can generate even more powerful shots than those guys. I am not kidding
And in the Doha final i think in the game at 2-4 second set Nadal hit a shot of 159kmph which was displayed but all the shots before in the rally are relatively very slow lol :D I saw him back in IndianWells 2010 he hit biggest groundstroke of the tournament at 180kmph
In this game, there is no way a player with topspin can hit a shot above 130kmph(excluding smash) even if he is in total control. i am ok with it. But complaining about keeping topspin in 780 points is a wrong idea.

You'r Welcome :D It's one of the reasons back when u did voting, i voted for fair mode as the average speeds in fair mode is in par with real tennis. However the max. power strokes are no where close. So i am happy with realistic mode.
neoke2,
If topspin is calculated in 780 points then low topspin players also have to put points to power of strokes which should also be made as seperate option in that point count. Otherwise it's injustice to players who want to play like Nadal :)

Re: [Suggestion] Top Spin and Previews

Why we simple don't remove spin from this game and why we have defender style here? Spin effect is already lowered in last version, i think too much, and everybody still complain on spin players. So if you think that is easy to play with high spin, why you don't play with that? What you want, to eat spin balls like a candy and get winners easy (with new settings and new version it's not hard to do that). The most players don't know how to play against spin (especialy on clay), and that's the problem for them. I can confirm that there is a only few players on this tour who can menage spin as well.

Manutoo, this link may surprise u even more.
Berdych also hits big shots only when needed. I got this stats when i was searching for Nadal's Indian Wells power shot :D This shows fair mode rallies(around 70mph which is like in 110-120kmph) were pretty close to real tennis but serve is not close. Serve in realistic mode is close to real tennis. Perhaps u can make a adjustment of both modes to make a better mode lol  Also in that mode, give one or two(not more) very powerful shots>150kmph in every rally with a new key assigned to it.On a balancing note, it should greatly tire a player that he cannot be able to play more b1+b2 shots. I am sure that complaints won't stop but is it possible to make a mode like that?
Check this stats Manutoo, it's true:

@Maryanucci, yeah many players don't know how to defend when they put topspin. Some even think we cheat lol...

Tene,
it's unlikely I'll change mode settings now, I think gameplay wise they're both quite good.

No problem. By the way in that link which shows groundstroke speeds, second serve returns are not slice returns..So they can be accounted for average groundstroke speed(excluding slice stats) :)
