I passed my depression period. I played a lot great practices this week, and 2 great tour matches. Im proud of both of them.
Against fenix because I was able to find some strong in my mentality after I lost 2nd set (in this set I won easily all my service games, and in 5/6 of fenix games i had break poinst that i didnt win.). Then he did amazing tiebreak and I lost despite I won more points in that set. That was my second win against higher ranked player.
Against Gilles I'm satisfied with my concentration. Gilles gave ma a loooooot of hand ;-). Thanks for that, that made me fun and teach a lot. Even in that 6/0 set there were 36-22 in points. Once again thanks Gilles for making match competitive ;-)

My next stop is Valencia and probably qualifications there. Hope I ll be able to show good shape too.

Well played against Simon ... I know from my own that he's a really good player. Keep it up!

Kind regards,
Heinrich.

Great result, but Gilles controlled result and did a lot to make our play competitive. He had weapons to destroy me, but he used it only when there was a need ;-).
Thanks to that I was soooo 'in game' and that was really entertaining 30 minutes.

The more I play here the more Im sure that this game is about 'mentality'. For example in match against Gilles I had *5-4 and I was serving for first set. In this game I made 2 double faults and 2 really unforced errors ;-) That makes this game so similiar to reality. And I like it, I must learn how to cope with some nervous situations.

Guys I finished my performance in Paris (and probably season ;-) )
I made main draw from the qualies. I'm really happy with my results.

QR1: def GoAga [rank 263] 6/0 6/0
QR2: def ABOUZIID (4) [rank 111] 6/1 6/0
QR3: def Filip Nole [rank 381] 6/0 6/2
/// reserve QR3: def marian_v (6) [rank 119] 6/0 6/1
R1: lost Naastoo [rank 36] 6/1 6/3

I think I made huge progress last 2 weeks. I see in my game a lot of anticipation (particulary when I play with weaker players but it is still nice).
I think that I could have been able to make more games against Nastoo (but still lose - he's great consistent player in top form). We played that match in Friday before I changed my player profile for indoor carpet and I had a lot of problems with finishing shots. Once again thanks Naastoo for few warm words about my game, its really nice and kind.
The result from Q1/2/3 coudl say that it was easy and opponents were weak. Thats not true. GoAga is great player who achieved Elo >1400 within one month of playing, rank of ABOUZIID is much higher than mine, and Filip Nole has higher elo than mine (about 1800) and probably i was beneficient of fact he wasnt used to the surface, also that was his first tournament.

My goal is to achieve top100. Hope I'll be able to do it some time.

Guys, are there any tournaments during off season? Im on fire and full of will to play ;-]

Guys, I need clay help. Im claycrap ;-] I need to prepare for last tournament in Sao Paulo.

I checked all my profile history of matches. 17 matches, 17 defeats, only 2 games won ;-) Thats kinda embarrasing that im elo >1700 and Im loosing wit guy elo 600 06 06 ;-]
All my shots and tactics from hardcourt dont work here. Guy stand 2 meters behind line and push everything cause there is no power and no angles in my play. Are there some of you who just skip clay season and clay tournaments?

If somebody wants to practice clay with me, i can offer a lot of elo points to gain ;-)

It is advisable to use topspin and more stamina than usual ... you should practise short angles as well.

Thanks for tips. Yeah, i added some stamina and topspin and now it works a little bit better. Still not my hardcourt level but im not ashamed by as many guys as before ;-)
Also fact that service and return are less valuable is handicap for me. Clay could be good training of patience and being solid with every shot during long ralies for me.

Im claycrap ;-] Tried to prepare for last tournament this season, but still its not looking good. On my actual clay level even BYE can win over me ;-)
I started preparations with ELO 1800, now i have <1400. Im 8-11 with guys with elo between 1000-2000.

Whats more important I cant diagnose what are my main faults. I hardly can finish points. One or two winning shots of my opponents give them point. I usually need over 5 high angles to win a point. Also I dont know what to do with long balls and how to do them.

I miss playing with such a great guys like Heinrich who teached me a lot. During this weekend I played over 30 matches and there was only few 'good game's and no one answer for my questions like 'guy, how you're doing those great long balls', or 'are you using more than 20 of topsin'. Its just a question and trust me an answer wont make me able to defeat you. Easier come 'what a huge win over you looser' than 'thanks for play'. And you are helpless cause you cant to anything with such a unkind player cause youre really way worse.

I finished my season with awfull result. That just hurts. Particularly, cause I played about 200 matches only to prepare for this one.
Today i lost with Mido. 26 75 46. Heinrich, my dear coach, you said that dropshots on clay are pointless... Im pointless cause i didnt win almost any dropshot of my opponent ;-) Stats of dropshot winners of Mido.
[1 set]: 10/10 - 100%
[2 set]: 12/14 - 86%
[3 set]: 9/10 - 90%

In points there were Mido 109 / Me 98. That dropshots cleared that match. It gave 28% (31) of his points.

Ir you read - sorry Mido that I wasnt talkactive after match. I was so angry and powerless. You have 110 matches played. I played only for those last tournament about 200. And still that doesnt make me able to win with anybody inside top100. I should accept my 'uselessability' ;P

I need few days off, cause this game is able to kill my mood. Hope that I wont forget about this game during break. In that case hope to see you in 2014.

Can't believe that dropshots really effective ... they are almost always reachable and easy to manage (except you are very fare from baseline). Escpecially on simulation controls there should no problem to change it into a winner. But anyway ... don't worry about this tournament. Keep your focus on elite controls and play next time better.

Kind regards,
Heinrich.

That was my very first match on clay when my opponent used dropshots. I dont know how to handle them. I usually try to make lob with slice key but yesterday nothing worked for me. And what is more important - each one effective dropshot made me less confident about my movement.

I was afraid of elite controls but during preparations for Paris and Shanghai I felt in love with them. Now I prefer elite.

Was not that difficult ... :fear:

Image

... but don't worry. I remember a match last year when I began to play this game, versus Sabina Lisiki I guess, I lost 6/0 6/0 in such an easy way, that I thought I would never could beat a TOP-30-player ... but match by match, just for fun, it will be better and now ... last two sets versus Sabina was 6/0 6/1, this time not for her. I know there are some 24/7 freaks who we will never beat, but who cares ... don't lose your pleasure by this really good game.

Kind regards,
Heinrich.

Heinrich did revenge ;P Guy, I lost with Mido 26 75 46, so he is at similar level as me. And in last two sets against you I won 15 points despite you served with second service, without topspin and short angles  .

Mido was tottally defetable for me. I knew what I was playing in practices after our last match. I was able to fight with so many players even above 2000 and noticed some wins against them. As I mentioned, I feel that without those dropshots I could have won. Mido, hope to see you next time in my draw and kick your ass (joke) :P Two 3-sets defeats are too much ;-]

Now I switched from clay to new syntehtic and change tactic of practicing. I dont care about results of matches (mostly 06 xD). Im focusing on doing as many offence as I can do. Now it is 10 UE per one winner and Im giving many elo points to my opponents but I think thats going better than playing safely. I should aim at level which is totally unachievable for me now. I wont make any improve if I'm going to use only what I can do now and what is safe in practice. Practice is about doing mistakes and finding their reason not about result. Hope to see some progress in positioning for shots and knowledge about risk of shots.
