Any news about TEM 2.0?

Postby Cenc » 17 Feb 2012, 20:04

I have seen in quite a few topics Manutoo mentioning TEM v2.0.
Could you give us a "sneak peek" at what we may see then? And when can we see that game coming out?
PS I have to say I like the current version considerably more than the previous few :)

Hello,

the main thing I'd like to add in TEM2 is the real time match, with real time coaching, like "go more to the net", "attack more", "stay more far from your baseline", etc...
The 2nd thing would be a more complete injury handling.
Other things could be : Junior Tour, and the possibility to start in 1980.

I have no plan to work on it right now, though. It may come end of next year, but nothing is sure... :fear:

The 'real time coaching' is the part I would least appreciate. Would it replace the selection of style of play at the start of the match?

The injury handling and junior tours (and implementing the linked Satellite tournaments) sound interesting, but I must admit the feature that appeals most to me is starting in an earlier year. I wouldn't mind if you pushed it back as far as the start of the Open Era.

Curtis,
it'd still have the score simulation mode as it is right now ; the real time match would be recommended only for the finals (and maybe semifinals), as it'd take much longer to go through them.

It would be great, nice ideas, also i think possible to manage only for example: Only Nadal, and not your player

I think that this improvement wouldn't be good. Coaching is not allowed in real tennis so it won't be realistic and good enough. But I don't discard this idea anyway. Maybe you could better add coaching in specific situation and f.e. once in a set.

Good game BTW :)

Manu My Wishlist And I Think These Features Are Very Important To Improve The Game A Lot:
-A News Section ( Winning A Tournament , An Upset , A Player Hired New Coach , Wild Cards Announcements , Players Retirements Announcement)
-Davis Cup Team Nomination .
-Addition Of Olympics Every 4 Years And Maybe Also The Announcement Of THe Surface Also.
-Maybe The Junior Tour Also That SHould Be Fun
-Making More Beautiful And Modern Graphics ! :D
Well I Think These Are The Most Important Points That I Think Should Be Added In The Game! The Game Is Great But With Additions ALso It Will Be Fantastic! And Thank You

So, are there any news on TEM 2.0.? In which stage it is? Still just plans? Is working on it in progress? When we can expect it?? Anyway, for now any news would be good. As fan of this game I'm really with excitement looking forward to the game. Game is great (otherwise I wouldn't be interest in it) but of course as a long run player I have some suggestion:
1) Modern design (this can attract more potential players)
2) Junior tour would be fun that is for sure. But also interaction between juniors and seniors. Like not possibility to play full schedule, getting WC for senior grand slam after winning junior, etc...
3) More realistic WCs giving. Kim Clijsters her comeback in 2010. surely didn't start playing 10k, 25k and winning like zillion matches on them but she got Cincinnati, Toronto and US Open WCs. ;) Also possibility for WC request (from player to tournament wouldn't be bad). Especailly if you were good before. Maybe there can be some variable like long run reputation and then possibilty to request/get WC based on that. ;)
4) Realistic playing of schedule (not that best player has score like 100-17 and win 5 internationals)
5) Possibility to play after 31 and also to not have low so much long term form (cause we see that Serena Williams with 32 is better prepared than any other player on the tour). But we have examples of Na Li, Francesca Schiavone, even Daniela Hantuchova, in mens Tommy Haas, Roger Federer in 30+ to be better prepared than rest. Of course, of course...it is logical by years you are less prepared than in younger age. But it shouldn't be so big difference like it is in game. I want to say, in game it is connected strictly with player age and in real life it is connected with quality of practicing. In game it also should be like that.
6) Not giving up so easily from your coach. I mean, in one year you are number 1, next year you are number 2 with winning slam, few premiers but just lost it for few pts...And because goal was to be number one agan. It is not fair really. Maybe there can be more goals. Or at least second chance goal that is lesser than first one and gives you chance to continue your colaboration.
7) Possibilty to train more players, to organize your team. But really as manager. Not to be connected to player. Like that main coach and manager you can build your academy and employ many people to train more than 4 players. ;)
8) And without 12 and 13 years old in future years!

If I remmeber anything else will say. :)

Hele.,
TEM2 development still didn't start and there's still no clear plans for it. I'll know more in January, I think.

Some other ideas:

Updating the tournament lists for 2.0 would be nice. For example, the Granby Challenger is in July while the Rimouski Challenger is in March. Both are late in the year in weeks 47-50 range in the game.

I also noticed that the game has many futures in places like Iran and Panama or whatever but none in Canada and only 8 in USA. Considering that more Canadians will buy and play your games than Iranians or Panamians, and that there are 9 futures per year in Canada, adding maybe two futures in Canada would be nice.

Other than that, its great game.

It is so bad news there are still not any plans for TEM 2.0. cause players of it are waiting so long for it! :( :(
But I have few more ideas that maybe can be considered:

9) Financial aspect of the game. I really do not like that you can go in debt so much and play wherever you want: Like from Europe go in Asia, America, Australia...so expensive trips. That is not like that as near in reality. And your debt is just bigger and bigger. Maybe there can be some option to get credit from bank (that you have to pay), than to find sponsors and really make your schedule very smart to have to think about it. I think it would make game much competitive and interesting at start of career.
10) Doubles compatibility. For example, two pretty useless singles players Jurak/Marosi were doing very decent pair. When they are not playing together anymore they are barely winning in doubles. Not that great singles players Hradecka/Hlavackova are even grand slam champs in doubles. So, that is the point, that even bad doubles players can make great pair. And also, I hope Cara Black will not be able to winning Wimbledon in game any more cause it is faaaaaaaar from reallity. Maybe there can be two profiles of players (one for singles and one for doubles)
11) About design, maybe there can be pictures of every tournament (or of that place), at least for bigger ones to have more differences. ;)
