Opponnent's Stress and Time Travellers

Postby annuarganggu » 20 Aug 2023, 18:20

Hey,
I made some edit to the player base skills before I really understood how it worked. I probably lowered some players' cold blood and now they started the game against me with a high stress green bar! I upped them back but some will still play me being in full stress. Would you like to explain how to make them stop being so stressed out? Or it doesn't even have anything to do with it?

Second question, it doesn't bother me much but I'm curious, did you intentionally put some current low-ranked WTA players playing in other eras?:)

Anyway, amazing game by an amazing guy

Hello,

1) Maybe they stress because you're low-ranked ; it's a mechanism done so there are not too many 6/0 between high-ranked & low-ranked players.
Also did you check their Cold Blood are back to normal in their Character Sheet before the match ?
For low Cold Boold (under 80%), they'll also get stressed in the final rounds of important tournaments.

2) Yes, low ranked players have been created using info from real low-ranked players and their play period has been extended to make the base smaller (and thus the saved games as well) by having fewer players in it.

And thanks for the praise. :jap:

1) Actually no, my players was a top 10 players just like them, didn't remember the exact rankings, but we're certainly only about 1 to 4 places apart. But okay, I'll check if their cold blood has returned to the original value. So this drop in cold blood cause the stress (even if it's still high, like dropping from 92 to 90)?

2) Alright, that makes sense :) I just find it amusing that some young girls I saw playing in ITF circuits months ago in real life, are already teenagers playing Davenport and Mauresmo in early round of a TEM grand slam in 2003 :D No problem.

Lastly, I hope one day the junior tour will be more balanced. Yes it should still be challenging, but having to run into so many unknown players who hit twice harder, and run twice faster than you, in the 3rd year - when you think you're good enough - is a bit disheartening  Please just give our juniors a bit more chance of winning high grade tournaments. Now it's a long and miserable grind before we have professional success, and that's not because our players develop too slowly, I think the skill growth speed is fine as it is, it's these monster opponents who end up nowhere as seniors who make junior tour hellish experience. Weirdly, I only feel the game can only be enjoyed at its fullest when starting as junior.

1) 90 instead of 92 shouldn't change anything significantly

3) Actually, it sounds realistic enough : I just heard recently how top junior players weren't making it as Pro, but how real future stars were dropping junior quickly to go on the Pro Tour. :P
Could you send me a Bug Report when you meet a very strong Junior and your player is 17 or 18 ? I'll check he's still within the norm. :fear:

Thanks for the quick response. Yeah, I know, some top juniors never made it as pros. I can accept the reasoning for now.
I will send report when I start with other junior. My girl is world's top player now with some GS titles in her cabinet. As junior all she ever won was one grade D tour in her 2nd year in her home country. Her 3rd year with playing AAA and junior grand slams and all the beatdowns is just a bad memory, still gives her nightmares at night :D
