General discussions about the 2nd edition of Tennis Elbow

Editing starting points for CPU's.

So I created an entire new schedule with new players and tournaments (with a different amount of prize points for each), but since my tournaments give lower amounts of points, I move up very little when I win a tournament. Is there any way to change this at all?

Hello,

no, it's not possible to influence this for the moment.

I'll add a parameter to change in the Tennis.ini for the next update.

Alright thanks. I'm just wondering, since there seems to be alot of nwe stuff in this upcoming update (which I am very excited about), when do you think it will be ready?

Hello,

almost all is ready, I just have to update the tournament and player bases, and to do the network play. All of that should take no more than 10 days.
But before, I have to work on the upcoming tennis manager game.
So you can expect to see Tennis Elbow 2006 released within less than 2 months.

Sounds great. I have one HUGE question though:

When you start a new game, the other players all have points (some in the thousands), yet there have been no tournaments played. Do the computers play a year before you to get those points (and we can't see the results?), or do they just start with them? Since the entry points expire in one year (from when you get them) how do they lose their points? Could you explain this whole system?

Hello,

no, the computer doesn't process a real year on a new game start, because it produces too much changes on the ranking (for example, the emergence of the new good players of 2005).

Instead it does a big chemistry to simulate the past year results, trying to stay accurate with the schedule of important tournaments, so the players will lose points along the year in an almost realistic way.

Great idea. That makes the most sense. This should all be editable as well in the update--this (tennis elbow) is the greatest things I have ever found!!!

If you changed the # of points for types of tournaments and started a new game, would the computer give out the points based on your new points, or the default #? I ask this because the points I give for tournaments are much lower than the default setting, so its very hard to move up in the rankings.

hello,

it was the initial question of this topic.

It gives the default, and for next update, I'll add a parameters to change in the Tennis.ini .
